Last Stand
Enemy forces have surrounded you castle and are beginning to siege. You are outnumbered and it’s only a matter of time before your castle is reduced to rubble. Use the materials available to you to build defences to delay the inevitable.
How to play: Build Phase: 1. Select a material to build with. 2. Place blocks to protect your castle. 3. Press the play button to start Defending.
Defence Phase: 1. During the Defence Phase you cannot build more blocks. 2. Click on blocks with the activatable symbol to turn them on. Use them wisely. 3. Rounds get progressively harder. 4. Different materials can withstand more hits, but they cost more.
Controls: 1. Place Block/use activatable block: Left mouse button 2. Rotate Block: Mouse Scroll/right Mouse button
Blocks
- Glass (basic): Glass is the weakest and lightest block but also the cheapest option.
- Wood (basic): Wood has a moderate strength and weight and therefore can withstand a few hits from projectiles but is a bit more expensive.
- Stone (basic):Stone is the strongest and heaviest block and is therefore more sturdy and therefore can withstand a few hits from projectiles but is a bit more expensive.
- Zappy (special):An enhanced wooden block with Plasma Powers. Active: turn on the Plasma for a short period of time, any projectile that hits the laser will be instantly destroyed

I could only get through the first few rounds myself after several attempts, but the gameplay was intuitive and fun.
Also, it's hilarious to me that you made the assets in powerpoint. Nice job!
Happy LD50!
Nice job!
And sometimes rotating is really uncomfortable. I think it will be better if you change rotating to constant angles. For example: if you click right button, your block around to 20 degrees. It will be help to build more accuracy buildings.
It is a fun concept! Good job!
@cad a reset button is one of the things we would have liked to implement that we didnt quite have time for.
@itooh i would love to hear your thoughts as to how we could make the zappy block more useful
@kurakurture glad you found a stratagy that worked for you! in future updates after the game jam we are planning to update the game to restrict blocks being placed within the enemy zones (where the cannons are). and as for rotating the block you can use right click to rotate clockwise a bit smoother than the mouse wheel. we decided against incrementing the rotation by a set angle as we wanted a bit more freedom and precision of the angles that you can place the blocks at
The audio is really good, too. The music is fitting and easy to listen to. Good job, overall, I enjoyed this.
I really like this concept!
It reminds me of angry birds, except this time you're defending, not destroying
I managed to get to wave 3, also I think, that everything except glass is a little expensive.
Overall a good game, well done!
Others have mentioned it but a reset screen would have been handy. I did think it was fun that you could play on the gameover screen.
I think it would be nice if the physics would be simulated during building phase.
