You're a lawman who's been bitten and become a vampire. The sun melts your skin and blood is the only things that can heal the wounds. Survive until sundown by killing enemies with your fists or your trusty, revolver and then drain their blood. Try to survive until the night, then you will finally be safe... right?

The sun will always rise again. But you may as well delay your inevitable end.

Hello! I found the game pretty cool. You should avoid the brown color and there is no reward for the player. Give the player a reason to delay the inevitable ;).

Love the vibe and art. Reminds me a bit of soldat. Parallax background is really cool!

Art is great, kind of has Nidhogg vibes.

I think there is a bug (at least in the WebGL version) - the gun automatically fires all your shots on load.

@teddyreid Thanks for the feedback. I will look into that bug. I haven't had it happen myself

Slick little game! Had a lot of fun playing it. I digged the vibe and the limited ammo but powerful damage of the pistol! Awesome work!

Only at my 3rd run found that i can climb walls :)
Acceleration while movement starts a bit slow for me, but everithing else is great!

Loved the art and music. The player has a lot of inertia which was kinda hard to get used to. I really enjoyed flying when I figured out how to.

Omg the garlic knight made me laugh
At first I tried to outsmart the game by just waiting for my life to go very close to zero before eating any body (so making it as worth as possible), this boss thing is a good fix to my lame strategy haha.
I enjoyed this game, it looks very simple at first but then you can have some really fun time exploring the possibilities. The music and overall style are cool, you don't see a vampire x western mashup every day.

Concept is great.
The artwork is fantastic, as is the music. It really creates a great mood.
The controls are simultaneously too floaty and too stiff, making the main character pretty annoying to control, that said it's definitely playable.
Also, wall jumping doesn't seem to be useful, and actually detracts from the controls of the game, making you bounce off of surfaces that you'd rather just hoist yourself up onto.
Decent little game!

Nice game. Like graphic and gameplay. Great job!

But!
Sometimes acseliration feels bad, because I have been stuck with obstacles.

Mechanic with wall climbing feel good, but we have not much vertical levels to ralize full potential.

Cool concept and graphics!
Interesting gameplay but I would recommend using different buttons for the actions, it's a bit hard to shift between WASD and Q/E.

Overall, good work!

@okamit Thanks, I struggled to come up with controls for mouse and keyboard, I hardly even use them. I am a controller gamer by default

I played this game and I loved:
- air gliding in a bat form
- admiring sunset as I go; nice color transitions

I could as well be good without:
- not having to use mouse to navigate the menu when being specifically opted to use xbox controller
- constantly bumping into platforms; platform lengths could be adjusted according to jump forces

@lootgrounds Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed. Yeah I couldn't figure out how to let the controller navigate the menus in time, it is not ideal

GARLIC KNIGHT FELLED
![Clipboard01.jpg](///raw/ab6/53/z/4d396.jpg)

- sweet compact, readable pixel art
- nice parallax background
- the inevitable keeps coming but i can delay it with eating blood indeed
- the character feels floaty to control, but once I got the hang of the dash it was easy to move around
- I was starting to wonder if the stage is just randomly generated and goes forever but then THE GARLIC KNIGHT APPEARED
- sweet blood trail effects
- would love to see more opportunities for wall jumping
- i would like to see more cowboy vampire content

@aerloth Thanks for all the feedback. Yeah it isnt infinite there is an even greater enemy beyond the noble garlic knight, just wait until the sun goes down

I absolutely loved your take one this. The art and music are great. I thought this was infinite at first, but nope. You pact quite a bit in.
The only problem I had was it took me a while to get use to the movement. It felt heavy and clunky at first, but after a couple minutes of moving around, I got use to it.

Great game! I though it look beautifull personnally and that the color fited the universe. Because elemets of the maps repeat itself i didn't tough there was an end, but i assume the chariot is the ending. The dash is so clunky but i love it. The theme is respected, the almost no UI policy pays off, and the boss fight works great ! (even if the last boss wrecked me in matter of seconds :D. The dash is very buggy when used on the ground and the gameplay loop feels a bit repetitive for replayability. Really great entry!

Really enjoyed the look and setting of this! Would be nice to see a more fleshed out version of it sometime in the future! good work!

Nice submission!

What I liked:

- I think the idea fits the theme really well (our game actually had a very similar idea behind it)
- The parallax scrolling was nice
- The movement acceleration was a little jarring at first but it was nice to be able to rocket across the screen to get to your next victim
- The UI was clear and I always was aware of how much health and ammo I had
- The music fit the theme of the game and was pretty catchy

What I think could be improved on:

- I think a little more effort could have been put into environmental art. I know not everyone is an artist but I can see the effort put into the characters and the background layer with the cactus so I think giving the tiles a little love would help make the game much nicer to look at
- The controls were a little difficult to use, especially the wall jump. The run felt so fast that wall jumping completely broke my momentum
- I didn't really see a point in ever using my gun. I still used it because it was there but I could always just run up and hit something once or twice and it would take the same amount of time. And since you have to go to their body to drain them anyways, the gun doesn't seem necessary.
- The boss could have been a little tankier. I didn't get to see any of his attack because I just ran up and destroyed him before he got to do anything

Overall, I had fun playing this. Nice work!

@sjpixels Thanks for playing and for the feedback. I agree with your points, I wanted to improve the tiling too. The gun can just help to not take damage against both of the bosses and also in the later parts of the game where taking a hit will end the run. I tend to like harder bosses but I understand that people want to play other games too and dont want to take up their time getting frustrated at a boss. I sort of intended for people to beat the first boss and be able to move on to a new game satisfied with that accomplishment

I beat Garlic knight but couldn't make it through the next area after my blood started draining super fast. The visuals and sound were really good. I thought that the movement and combat could have been improved--I found myself getting stuck in wall clings frequently, and fighting the enemies in melee felt like just trading hp.

Really nice game! I liked the art and tone of the game and the movement felt really good. My only criticism is that at times it felt like I was playing against my own impatience, since I didn't find it challenging to beat the enemies one at a time, but would often die trying to rush through the game. I loved the Garlic Knight, though, the setting and artwork really holds together and makes it enjoyable!

Nice game. I enjoyed the concept a lot. The music and visuals were great and I liked the overall ambience you were going for. I do wish the game got harder a bit quicker but overall I had a good time playing it.

Very, cool! I was hoping someone would do a vampire theme as it came up during our brainstorming session, but I like the western outlaw twist as well and the art/music fits perfect with it. I also really enjoyed the blood splatter animations and the color palette you chose. I think the movement could be better, as I'd really love games like this where the pixel art is very simple/minimal style but the animations and movement feel super fluid. Great work!

Great art style and good audio. Interesting take on the dash mechanic. However, the movement seems a bit floaty and unresponsive. Background parallax could use some up and down movement to better visualise that we gain height. Overall nice game. Good job! :)

WOW! You fit so many mechanics into this jam! A super satisfying fly/dodge, wall climbing, gunplay, several enemy types - all of these synergize so well for a highly enjoyable entry

The background, UI, and sprite work were very high quality, well done.
Also, the game as a freakn garlic knight boss battle, it's amazing

The idea and implementation of the game is really cool. Keyboard and mouse controls are a little awkward (e.g. moving as a bat to upper platforms is very difficult)

I like the concept of the game, the character has a lot of utility and makes combat pretty fun. I also really liked the UI for the gun that was a nice touch.

Really nice implementation of the theme. Characters animation are great! I think, it would be better if controls for the keyboard was less smooth than it was, really needed time to get used to them. But in general it was a good game!
