i am really bad at this game, i cant seem to get past 300. one thing i would like to see is maybe some kind of power letter that blows up some words around it to help clear out some copys of letters in the way. it was fun to play, nice job!

Really nicely done! It's a nice simple mechanic that's been polished to the extreme. I thought it was a bit easy to keep the game going by spelling 3-letter words, otherwise great work!

Favorite Compo so far, manage a 1010 score. Definitely gonna show this one to my girlfriend! The music is the only thing I can think of that can be improved. I also like @jcmonkey's power up idea, it can be annoying to clutter the bottom with no/little vowels cause you did all short words.

Also is the highscores on a server or is that just pre-seeded?

@phil-c The high scores are all on a server and updated live

Really interesting concept, super polished I couldn't even comprehend creating something with words like this

English is not my native language, but until I managed to get pretty far (I had some words that I'm sure don't exist but I pointed it out anyway).

I'm curious to know how you did the word check, I'll download the source code later.

The music and art fit perfectly with the theme.

Congratulations!

Rather enjoyed this game, might be nice if there was some sort of bonus/power that allowed you to destroy a pig or shove it out of the way. I played through about 8 times I think, 5 letters was the most I could ever combine but I could just not be that great of a speller. Nice entry!

Really nice. Just feels like rounds were very different in distribution of letters :P

Got the "verify" but it feels like length didn't matter a lot for the total points?

Hey Wyatt, nice game!

It's a shame I couldn't join you on stream this edition, I was working ina. team this time so it was a bit hard (:

Even for a non-native english speaker it's a nice loop (my countless days of Wordle served their purpose)

Main mechanic is fun, nice aesthetics.

Bounce is a bit too strong when you try to catch the ball but let's say that's a motor skill challenge to surpass.

I'd love to have a core way of mixing things up on the left and right most sides, if your bottom is letter-stuck it gets very hard.

Thanks again for the game, and as always if you can, please check out my submission as well - I'd love to see your take on it. Most of the balancing techniques came from watching you doing yours, so your feedback would be very valuable!

See ya then, bye!

@phil-c I had some people mention this bug. Can you try visiting the page and shift-refresh (hold down the shift key while hitting refresh button on your browser) to force your browser to reload the game? Thank you for letting me know.

@candlesan CTRL+F5 fixed the bug at least in google chrome, if it happens again I'll try shift refresh but I'm assuming it does the same thing.

Well done very polished for the time limit. The music got annoying but you added a mute which was great. Besides that it was a little easy to keep it going.

Very close to being brilliant. Just didn't feel the speed ramped up quickly enough so never felt in danger of losing, and got a little bored making enough 3-letter words to keep things under control. Maybe there could be some pigs that keep getting bigger until they explode, a bit like when you need to quickly get rid of burning tiles in Bookworm.

this was really fun, I really like word games and I played this one more that I thought I would. Not really much I can add really. Probably more kinds of pigs in the future that adds more content, idk. anyways, I really liked the game, great job!

Awesome game, spent a ton of time trying to climb the leaderboard. Idea was well executed and easy to understand. I liked the scoring system and the pigs were adorable. Great job.

This is a really cool and new wordgame! Gameplay is intuitive and smooth. I'd guess graphics and music came a bit short due to the jam (music is nice but a bit repetitive after some time).

This is fun scrabble / tetris mashup! I could totally see this being a big mobile game!

Really fun combo of a physics game and a word game. I thought it added a lot of excitement that the openings created by making words gave you limited time opportunities to new combos if you were fast enough to get them before the other piggies dropped. I snoozed an alarm twice so I could keep my round going. Some further refinement of the scaling and the controls and you could have a real hit on your hands. Great work!

Nice mixing of genres, would work great as a multiplier and/or a mobile game. It's cute and fits the theme well, nice job!

Addictive game. I would like to see some power-ups or some variations to it, but it's great for a compo game!

That was really fun, I really like the limitation and flow of the game, after going for quick and easy ones at the start, I realised that I just had a bunch of letters that don't really make anything stuck at the bottom, well done!

Always love word games and this one delivered. I found myself waiting around for good letters a bit frequently but still really enjoyed it overall.

Didn't expect to see a fully functional word game in an LD! Very neat! I was surprised how solidly it worked given that the letters had physics, but I never ran into any issues!
