Wicked Wilds by peringo

Wicked Wilds is a game about keeping a fire alive. To do this, you'll have to scavenge an island for ressources, craft tools and prepare yourself - for the looming threats that come at night.
Figuring out what you can do to keep your fire ablaze and your candleman healthy is part of the fun - don't go in expecting to understand everything right away; we don't expect you to either. We would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on the game and how long you survived!

The crafting mechanic is well thought out and executed.
Sounds and Music always match the ambiente very good (especially at night).
The only thing I found wierd was that, when I equipped a weapon/tool, the tool previously held would be droped on the floor. Maybe it could be automatically placed in an empty inventory slot if available.
Also the inventory size could be increased a little bit for my taste. Just one or two slots more so that i can manage my stuff more easily. But thats maybe just messy me.
Overall really good game. Well done.
Edit: I had an idea while I was writing to **use the fire** and got some cool results, I can see you addressed bigger inventory as an upgrade which is super cool! I even got a second backpack which it didn't seem like I could do anything with. Anyway I couldn't really figure out if there was an endgame, but what was here was fantastic. Nice job!

When I had a pick and tried picking up an axe!
Very cute game with a good art style though, so much potential in this bad boy!!! You should so develop it into a full game after the jam :)
```
or when you hover over an item, what items can be combined with it
```
This is already in the game. Items that can be combined will be green, items that can't be combined will be red.
Thanks for playing our game. We intentionally didn't go for a list, but we didn't want people to just guess blindly either, so it seems that our implementation has failed here.
Yeah, the flame was a massive oversight. We'll look for ways to improve crafting if we continue this, but we'll try to get around recipes for as long as we can :P
Thanks for giving it a shot!
I like the NPCs with their no-text intuitive requirements/dialogue.
I did struggle with understand the crafting system for a long time, but you're aware of that.
Very impressive what you put together in such a short time!
It took me a little while to figure out the crafting system, but that's ok, nothing wrong with a little eksploration and eksperimentation, it comes with the genre. Sound and feedback works well. The music is great. And the combat system has a good feel and precision.
/!\ The web version is unplayable on my computer, can't pick up items, can't see anything etc. I think you should put a warning about it as it may give player a bad first impression. Globally I think that there's a scale problem with the game, like it doesnt scale down on smaller computer or something ( a quarter of the explications where left out on my notebook and the camera was off centered)
How did you even access the web version? We had that thing online for like, 20 minutes on release day. We know it didn't work, so we took it offline. Surprising to still see comments about it, and I can't access it myself.
Thanks for giving the download version a shot though! It was on purpose, but we know that it can be annoying. I also don't like that there is no additional "the fire is REALLY dying now" stage / indicator, for example. We are going to make a small post jam version where we'll try to address that, there is something else planned to get around the problem of the "fire compass".
It's hard to understand at first and there's the sprite layering bug, and everything else is chef's kiss. You have a really solid foundation for a friendlier Don't Starve-like game.
