I enjoyed playing this game, I usually don't like this kind of games but I liked that you have 3 attacks and you have to chose the correct one to kill the enemy

Good design choices. The combat is really polished, feels snappy and on point. The fact that there are different knock back forces really showed the detail you put into the game. Well done.

Whoaw!!!!!! Graphics is god damn great! Visual+audio creates a great atmosphere and brings me back to childhood with DOS and nintendo games!
I've really enjoyed it!

Game plays nice!
I don't like K-attack, because it's not splash, but it's ok for a challenge.

Great job!

Nice and juicy! The art and animations look great, and it's satisfying to smash through big groups of enemies. There's a little bit of interest here mechanically with the matching of attacks to enemies, too. Mostly just feels good to play, fine work.

Web version is slow for me, but I got the desktop version and that seemed to fix everything. graphics were fantastic and the music really fits in well with the game, doesn't do anything unique with the theme. Gameplay is fun but its a bit too simple for me. Anyway great job guys.

Absolutely love the art style!

As this is already very polished and has great game feel, just a few very small things I noticed:
- The music is a bit loud in comparison to the sound effects but that might just be me (I like the audio effects being louder than the music)
- There is no sense of "increasing power" when picking up more Att+ pickups. Ideally the attacks would become more powerful and destroy previously harder enemies with ease (and then more powerful enemies appear to even the battlefield again, the neverending story of powerups)
- Even though I really love the 3 different attacks, I didn't notice that one has benefits over the others. Would be cool if that would be the case or maybe I just didn't notice.

@marc-grabow thanks for your feedback. For the Power Potion, I need point out that its effect is to increase your attack by 10 times, lasting 5 seconds, more potion only refresh the counter, neglect whether you use right type of attack or not. which means if you attack an enemy with right type and in the attack-buff status, you could cause 100 times damage. All of this could not be feeled because the elite enemy has yet appear. They are tough to be fight with, and you're couraged to beat them using these potions. (NOTE: they will comes soom after a certain wave, and they are one of the core gameplay of this game!) please have a try to reach the final waves and experience it.

The game has performance issue in web version, but the Windows version works well! The game is fun, the different attack type is interesting to play combining with the enemy pattern design, and the storyboard and the music are quite good! I'm surprised the +atk is 10 times based attack, it basically works as nullifying type effect? Overall an enjoyable game, well done!
🎤 JustusPan
06. Apr 2022 · 08:40 UTC
@yulotomorrow the attack potion give you a chance to kill any type of common enemy without extra thinking. But later, three advanced enemies are emerging, you have to choose the use timing of each potion and you still need to select correct attack type to kill elite enemy by 1-hit(even when you under attack+ status). The last wave is the main part of this game and it will be extremely challenging if you want to get the true ending.(yes there is a true ending besides the normal ending)

![KILLED.png](///raw/4d1/f3/z/4d1bb.png)

Great fight! The use of the JKL was very well placed, but as the difficulty increases the game becomes much more difficult I just started pressing all the buttons HA HA.

One thing I missed was my character's life, I at least didn't notice any sounds warning me if my life was low or something. Power ups are useful, but I think a power up that increases the attack area would be pretty cool too.

Congratulations to the team!

Very well executed game, the pixel art and music work really well for this. The design of using three different attacks on enemies is really satisfying and does a good job at throwing some variety into the combat, also love that its color coded so it reads very well. Would love to see some more feedback when I hit enemies, maybe a slight pushback or slash sfx would really sell it. Player might be moving a little fast, sometimes its hard to stop before running into mobs.
All in all though this is one of the best ld50 games I've played so far. You guys should be really proud!

Great game! I loved the way you have to combine attacks to fight different enemies. I hate the blue guys because of how little AoE the blue attack has though. :D

I've managed to save the kingdom first try (like a true gamer), but died soon after. I suppose, it becomes infinite and you can only delay the inevitable after that?

Great entry! Loved it. Art is beautiful and the core loop is simple but satisfying and polished. Really smart idea to include color-based crit to make me more of an active participant and not just button mashing. Also appreciate the player still dealing damage even if the wrong color, so it's not TOO punishing. Well done!

This was good fun! Love a good color-mechanic, and it was satisfying and juicy to smash the opponents with the different moves. I saved the kingdom on the first try, but it was tough! It would have been nice to maybe have a ranged ability too but maybe that would have taken the challenge out. Great submission!

Great little game. The fact that you had to use different attacks for different enemies as well was a nice touch and added some chaos to the mix as well when enemy types got mixed together. Loved how they were colour coded as well to denote which enemies can be killed by which attack. I do wish the range of the weapons was a little larger since it was really easy to collide with enemies while trying to land a hit. I made it uptil the 1oth wave and killed around 400-ish enemies. Nice job on this entry.

tbh I was not very confident with the one attack per enemy type gameplay, but finally I had a lot of fun with it. On my first try I didnt realize there was an HP bar for the crystal because it was offscreen. Then I saw your warning before the second game and eveyrthing was fine after that. There's a nice old school feeling to the game, makes me want bash an arcade cabinet's buttons with friends !

I *really* liked the core combat. At first I played it straight up by trying to match the colors of attacks to enemies. But at some point I realized the active frames start so fast I might as well time J K L to be an absolute machine that just grinds through whatever's in front of me.

Throughout the play, I also saw you could direction-cancel to hit 2 angles at once. So I'd start my attack facing left, and then quickly hit down to hit another angle. This was of little use given that the first phase is pretty easy.

.......but little did I know I had the opportunity to test these skills! The sorceress fell down and now I had to take on the huge wave. I was excited to try out both the above skills are were confident in them so I actually parked myself in a corner and let myself get surrounded. That ended up being a mistake as I didn't have enough close quarters practice and just got swallowed up.

Gave it one more try but 578 is the highest I can manage. What can you get @justuspan ? Once the bosses come in it was way too hard for me to keep things under control.

The game is excellent and I loved how it pushed my execution abilities. I personally want to be able to skip the 1st phase and get right to the survival portion, but what can you do :)

@peachtreeoath I have recoreded a playing progress for you! In this video I killed 898 skulls! In fact, the enemies are not infinite and you will kill all of them eventually, just like what Guts did in Berserk. There is always a good, happy ending behind the desperation and the inevitable.

Simply wow! Amazing job with the game! The art style, music, sound effects and gameplay are spot on! I was able to save the kingdom, but couldn't save myself. There is a small bug, just to let you know. When you kill and enemy close to a wall and there isn't much space, the item can spawn on the wall. Anyway, great job!

This was fun, I managed to make it pass the "save kingdom" and reach the survive phase. The sudden increase in enemies was quite terrifying lol, it was hard to survive that. I like how each enemy is weak to one of the 3 attacks, it added a reaction mechanic to the gameplay XD
I think the pacing is a little slow though, and without a checkpoint after the first phase, it's a bit frustrating if I wish to attempt it again from the start.
The cutscene and the loading screen do look sick tho

i enjoyed this game, very nicely done! the retro feel of it is great. in the intro i almost expected to hear "they set us up the bomb, all your base are belong to us" ! The strikes felt a bit strong, with L entire groups can be demolished and i couldn't find a power meter or whatever that limited how much you could use it. All in all, gave a good score on this one!

Man what a good time. The level of polish here for a game made in three days is nuts. The movements and controls were super responsive and snappy, music was great, design was rock solid. You met the theme extremely well with the ending as well. Fantastic work!

I'd recommend the option to use the num pad or mouse buttons for the attacks as well if you plan on iterating more. My right arm started to get a little tired with how I was positioned on my keyboard, but that may just be me!

Very nice game! Great graphics and controls feel snappy. My only issue was with the blue weapon. Its attack was too narrow and made it harder to use than the others. I feel like it would have worked better making all weapons function the same but deal more damage to enemies of the same color. Simpler but more effective overall.

Very enjoyable hack and slash. Gameplay felt smooth and flowing. The different types of attacks and the enemy colorization indicating their weakness are a nice touch and give depth to the game. Good music choices as well, giving that epic battle feel. Sadly my monitor was not big enough for the game so I couldn't enjoy it in fully.

And love the intro!
