Holy crap, was not expecting such a deep story from such a simple concept. Well done!

Fun concept, and you actually managed to tell a story in 10 levels. Side note, there's a link to your source on itch, but you might have to add it here as well, not sure how strict that is.

Absolutely loved it! Funny mechanics using the wife to carry you through these levels. Also the levels kept me hooked until the end! (Apart from some levels that seemed unfinished?) The last level was unexpected lol. Nice touch adding a system that gets you back to the level you were because one time I fell through the floor and didn’t want to start all the way over.

Some of these levels were your test scenes weren't they ;). Great job! I tried that last level 10 times trying to find a way lol.

Wow really hooked playing this one to find out what happened in the story. Enjoyed the pacing of the levels and the use of the mechanics. The animations were very clear in explaining what was happening in the game. The ending was tough (emotionally). Love it!

That's some very neat idea! Really liked the carrying mechanic of the flying wife. The ending was quite surprising. Good job on actually including some story in just 48 hours!

So I don't know what exactly I just experienced, but I think I enjoyed it. Well done with storytelling. The gameplay was a bit weaker than the story. It wasn't bad, but the wife being used as a hover ability is more of a story thing than anything, functionally it's the same if the player just had that as an ability. The alcohol and some of the levels started to explore the fact that the hover ability is imbued in another character, but I would have liked to see more of things like that. Nevertheless, really well done!

Bad at 720p/768 screen resolutions. But great game! Thanks!

Hey, buddy, everything okay at home? This is sad.. Aaanyway

Interesting choice to tell a story with a platformer. Curious mechanics, I liked how you constructed puzzles with them, they were enjoyable to solve. But controls felt a bit awkward to me, couldn't get used to pressing Z twice and holding it the second time.

Also FYI, found a bug where you fall through the floor in the very first part of level 9. The restart solved the issue, so it wasn't much of a problem, just a bit annoying, cause that part of the level is kinda hard.

And an idea with a family story is inventive.
I've really tried the last level so much times trying to get just any other scenario.
That was an interesting move.
But a bit double-edged, I guess.
The bad side of that implementation is that a player never reaches the ending and is pushed into an endless loop.
I dream about how pleasent it could be if after some loop iterations there opens any true ending option to choose.

very nice game.tight mechanics. not quite surewhy the corridor lvls were mid game. they felt like they should have been the first tutorial lvls. mechanics wise. msg wise they make sense. but the game is great, really great. good job.

Mildly blindsided by the tone of this game, and I'm not mad about that one bit. My one major complaint is that the fire hitboxes were not super well defined by the fire effect.

Best storytelling over the games I tested so far! Great music too.

The characters graphics and animations are nice. The plain color tilemap could fit with the caracters but dont with the flamethrower and furnitures, though.

The mecanics are original and work well both as a gameplay element and as a storytelling element. Although there is only 2 or 3 levels somewhat challenging where these mecanics are really used to full potential.

Excellent entry anyway, congrats!

Uh I was NOT prepared for this one in the slightest. The story telling is sublime, the mood solid, mechanically sound, level design is pretty much perfect, and the 'goofy' graphics are all in place for a reason. This is really good!

It's tough to levy any substantial critique on this one, art may be the lowest hanging fruit, but its expressive enough to do the job for certain, and is only brought up cuz it'd help more people play a game that REALLY deserves to be played. Good work!

what a fun game with an unexpected ending! I especially liked how the ending forced you to take part in it, rather than a cutscene.

Awesome game! Pretty dark, especially the ending  great story telling & solid mechanics. Everything is so well done especially considering the time!

What an amazing job! I love how you tell a story and show relationship between characters only through gameplay. That is so impressive and it is double impressive for a compo entry. Very well done!

The ending is very touching and gives so much more depth and context to the game. The core mechanic of having a second character that does all the tricky stuff is also pretty cool and unique.

Loved it

I was streaming my playthrough of your game. Here's a recording in case you'd like to see it https://youtu.be/P3HI-2edlag
