Tilted Saloon by Vitor Milioni

Howdy there cowboy, welcome to the Tilted Saloon
Tilted Saloon is a platformer made for Ludum Dare 50. In this project, a tumbleweed is rolling and bouncing around the Tilted Saloon, and you have to use the swinging doors to guide it to guide it to the end of the saloon, where it can go safely back to the desert, as oposed to... just falling anywhere into the desert i guess?

In this pinball re-imagination, you have the actual objective to get the ball to the end of the level, not acumulating points or just keeping it alive, you'll guide it through several cool challenging obstacles, all keeping the pinball feeling and style, all themed in a Wild West saloon.

Don't let the tumbleweed fall too early, guide it to the end of the saloon! though... i suppose it's gonna fall out there anyway in the end... oh well, try not to think about it too much!

I played it for quite awhile, but did end up getting stuck, unfortunately, and wasn't able to finish. One thought I had was that given the Wild West stuff, it would be really neat if you also could use the mouse to shoot the pinball to apply physics forces mid-flight and move it around. But really, I'm probably just bad, haha.
Great work guys!
@minusc thanks for the feedback too! It did end up a lot more rage inducing than i first expected xD but due to the time constraint i chose to embrace it :p, hope you had fun!
@krzyhau yeah, the music became a bit repetitive, it was done last minute by my friend to save me from having a silent game xD I wasn't too fond of the theme, yeah, but i felt it was a great change to reimagine an old arcade game since those were pretty much all about delaying and not really winning :p thanks for the comment, it means a lot!
@polymathld Thanks a lot! I was in a bit of a cowboy mood this weekend xD Shooting the ball would actually be thematically fun if i could make it work around the pinball platforming, what i originally wanted to implement was a button to shake the screen a bit, much like you would shake a pinball machine when the ball got stuck :p unfortunately didn't manage to get that done in time, but still, i'm very glad you enoyed!
@ben-newington ahh, now i'm hating myself for not thinking of this, you make a very good point thanks, i'll try to implement this in a future version perhaps. Hope you liked it!
But despite that still a pretty sold entry, with a nice concept and a funny settings, overall a good job from you guys!
@roruke @mrpouletbzh thanks for the feedback, apparently the consensus was that it should be a bit faster xD i tried to prioritize the platforming instead of the pinball aspect of the game, but i should have prioritized it so heavily, thanks a lot for sharing that, definitely something i'll keep in mind for this project!
And yeah, art is also great, I like that style :sunglasses:
As hard as it was (cause im bad at everything) I was able to get a little bit of the way through, but I would definitely play this game more, and play more levels of it! The art is really cute, and I definitely get those pinball machine vibes from it. A screen shake to help move the ball would also be a really cool feature, especially if it was on mobile and with real motion!
I think this would play really well as a mobile game overall as well! I'm really impressed with the level of polish, nicely done!
Special respect for the visual!
p.s: It is a pity that I did not pass the place with a gun
@sarah Wow that's super high praise, thank you! Hopefully in a future version the difficulty curve will be a bit smoother xD And yeah absolutely, we can talk anytime, feel free to send me a message wherever! Thanks a lot for the feedback, i also had a lot of fun on your stream and with your game!
@sourdoge Oh wow how have i not heard of that? I've got to try that one out, looks super fun and is on sale rn xD Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing and for the feedback!
@apostle yeah, it ended up being a bit harder than intended, but i decided to roll with it xD i'm glad you liked it though, thank you for your words!
@sofignedova Haha yeah, the physics came out a little wonky, i want to complete them for sure, i'm glad you enjoyed the visuals, we had a lot of fun making it with that theme, thank you!
@flyingkaida It's tough even for me xD i spent hours testing it and it was still super difficult to get to the end on the final build to make sure it was working properly lol. But what matters is if you had fun, thank you so much for playing and for the comment!
I loved Yoku's Island Express so I like those kind of games ✨
Visuals are nice, controls are very intuitive. As other said games might be a bit too hard, but mostly too frustrating due to large spaces with no bumpers where you just have to wait for the ball to live its life.
Great job and thanks for the game 🤠
Dunno how others got past the revolver portion, but I held one paled up and let the revolver build momentum until it could pop up for the top paddle to slap it.
I'm not a big fan of pinball, but I love the graphics and personality in your game!
Awesome job!!
