To the Beat of the Mountain King by tompudding
Flee from the Mountain King while you can, but you're only delaying your inevitable death. How long can you last?
Press the keys that scroll along the top or the bottom in time with the music to survive. Note that this game was designed with a numeric keypad in mind

Download one of the pre-packed versions (sorry for the size of the windows build!), or execute the source code directly if you have python installed.
To run the source code, make sure you have pygame and pyopengl installed (pip install pygame pyopengl), then type "python mountain_king.py"
v1.03 now uploaded to fix the bug reported by @krisztian (thanks!)

The fast moving background got me a little dizy after a while. :)
The medium difficulty mode was bugged for me, there were no notes, and nothing came on the level and the boss didn't shoot me.
These were the steps when it bugged out: finished easy mode (with -200ms audio delay), lost on medium, then I changed audio delay to -187ms, and started a game on medium. But then I could "repair" it by losing on easy mode, and switching back to medium.
But again, really cool game, liked it a lot!
I liked the mood and ambiance, the rhythm timing matched very well with endless runner graphics!
To have so many different keys, especially numbers and letters, felt a little frustrating and more like a typewriter training, but the game sure has a lot of potential :)

I really like music based games and wish there were more. Loved the idea and would totally play more with more music options!
Was a fun play.
I found the text pretty blurry even without the screenshake and it became hard to read after a while.
Well done!
