I love the concept of upgrades! I think it would look even better with some permanent upgrades, so you can get an idea of ​​progress!

I would also love to use WASD since my right hand is on the mouse...

oh was almost checking this one as "windows only" to play later, then I remembered that in the video you mention that there was a web version ... perhaps you should mention it here so people that don't have windows (or not always have access to a windows pc like me) know they can play on the browser ... ok so I am checking this one right now

ooooh so sad there was no score at the end I thought I was going very well in this :laughing:
this was a lot of fun to play, I have a few suggestion for improvement:

- it feels a bit desperate to use a card while trying to shoot the right penguins, perhaps if there was a "pause" of sorts, like a slow motion type of thing you could get into when choosing to pick a card I think that game "random" has a similar mechanic, action + card using
- a bit of screenshake could add greatly to the sense of impact perhaps
- I would love to have some melee happening when penguins got close, that would be dope but that is me, loving melee

Yeah I only have Linux, many people here seem to use Windows so I end up playing the Linux and web builds only lol @velvetlobster

the web version is great, this is a lot of fun, if it had a score I would sure wanna play all day to beat other players in here :laughing:

@mikomoares Do you not have Wine install on your system ? I also mostly play web version but wine is very good - If you have made skill I think you can get proton playing with out steam running.

This was super fun! Glad you added the web version! I was able to cheese the game by just going on the ledge, aim straight and hold the mouse but it was fun and cute regardless! Well polished

It was generally fun and creative.

Only thing that would be nice to have or felt like was maybe missing, that I can agree with one og the others above is that it would be nice to have a score or point system of some sort.

But regardless of that, the gameplay is solid and personally I really liked the graphics in it's entirety and the penguin was cute and quirky. A very charming game 😊

I really like graphics and mood :) little more balance would be nice, because you can buy speed booster, stay in one place without moving or jumping and still win. When you use text like "press space" it tells user that this button will do something in game and jump is almost always under the space bar, so you could add this key to jump or change text to "click to start". But still awesome entry :) great job for game jam!

Loved the art, music, and the whole simple concept. Sound effects reminded me of the Atari. Great work!

Cute and well made! Though I feel like it might actually be impossible. I tried a couple times and never lost by losing all my health, so I tried again not even bothering to dodge and hitting every bullet possible, even killing all the other penguins as soon as they land I didn't die by losing health and only got about halfway through before the iceberg was too low.

I really liked the art and music. The design and use of the theme were really cool with fun gameplay. Good job!
