Summer Vacation by roryh
The theme this time around gave me the vibe of a survival game. So that's what I went for!
Turn based, so there’s no need to act fast to survive. But a poor short-term choice will leave you in that much worse a state in the long run.
Controls: - Arrows/wasd to move and navigate menus. Tap and quickly release a directional key to only move one tile. - Z/space/enter to open and interact with menus - X/backspace to close menus
Used a custom game engine (full source included in source link), and Aseprite for art.

With that being said, the game is amazing, the night effects, the art is simple and delicate, and the menu navigation is fully functional.
Congratulations!
Unfortunately I accidentally pressed Escape after building it which froze the game in the HTML5 version. However, I don't know if there is any more content after the shelter.
Good game anyway!
But the game is really hard, I couldn't find enough material for a shelter before I die.
Nice work!
* Waves washing the shores of the islands.
* Rain that puts out the fire.
* Health, temperature, thirst and hunger icons instead of numerical stats.
Overall I had quite some fun with this entry, really digging the artstyle and mood. ^^
Yeah, I had rigged the math so that the player could only reasonably survive about 6-12 days before inevitably dying of thirst. I messed up on the presentation of that though. There's really nothing to make that clear to the player, so it just ended up feeling unfair or like something the player was missing. There isn't anything ye missed, death from dehydration is inevitable in this game! (if I did it right)
The shelter was there as a bonus challenge to strive for, plus it gave the illusion of more content than there really was :p
Congrats!!
Althought the game stopped working before I was able to build the shelter (HTML5). At least that way I didn't die
Good job!
My only point of small feedback is that the fruit on the trees was a bit too hard to see at first, you might want to make it stand out more either color or size wise.
Really nice job!
