Just 5 more minutes by stoffe
Getting up in the morning is inevitable, but waking up in the middle of a dream is always a bummer. When the alarm goes off snoozing for a while is always an option. But eventually reality always catches up to you.
Goal: Fight your way through dreamland and collect clocks to gain more precious REM sleep. When you run out of time you can gain more time by pressing the snooze button.
Controls: - Movement: WASD/Arrow keys - Attack: Left mouse button - Open Menu: ESC - Toggle Music: M

Update 6/4/22: - Added health bar to enemies and visual cue to player so it's easier to see when the enemies/player is hit - Fixed various collision detection errors for the player and enemies (the player would take damage even if the attacks didn't hit)

@ds-nahogara, @andrewdt100, @firescape-games, @gravityflip, added visual cues like you suggested, it in turn exposed collision detection bugs but they are fixed now 😅
For top down games like this I always recommend putting some power ups, because sometimes it's very difficult when a giant wave of enemies comes, and we don't have much to do but shoot, and in this case the shooting range is very small , which complicates matters further.
But the idea was very well implemented, I loved the snooze mode option.
Congratulations!
I would rebalance it a little, as You can often just stand and shoot, and still gather enogh time to be on plus.
Good job, keep going!
.
There are not enough effects and recoil from monsters. There is not enough variety in the mechanics of combat.
.
For an interesting look, for an idea - like! keep up the good work! I'm waiting for new projects or this completed one!
Thanks for that insight with the UI colors. Next time I will pay attention to make sure that the UI and the game actually work well together :-)
Like @kat said, there should be no problem using GarageBand since the loops in GarageBand are royalty free and you can use them to compose songs.
My guess is that the copyright AI of Youtube/Twitch flagged the music because somebody has released a song using the same loops as we did.

Our GarageBand song

It could benefit from making the attack animation a little faster or changing it to a longer-range attack, because right now it's really hard to walk around and aim without taking damage myself. It's not as unique, but this style of game really does benefit from letting you fire a lot of shots that travel fairly far. You often need to change the direction of your attacks on a whim, and the attack here is stuck in one direction for just a bit too long.
Otherwise, again, this is a really solid entry.
