SCREENSHOT1.png SCREENSHOT4.png

The Great Pit beckons you.

The Great Pit demands tribute. The Great Pit demands trash. You have been given until sundown to collect all this trash. Tomorrow, you will collect more trash. The Great Pit sounds angry. You can only assume the consequences are dire. Is there any hope? How much longer can this go on for?

Stave off the Great Pit's wrath for as long as you can as you scour the world in search of anything - anything! - that can help you survive the final battle!

Controls:

Move with WASD or your arrow keys.

Pick up, throw, advance through dialogue and use shortcuts with Spacebar, E, or Enter/Return.

Important note:

Testing of this game was impacted by a power service outage in the Puget Sound region on the final day of the jam. Though all is fair in Ludum Dare, the decision was made to release a hotfix in accordance with the rules of Ludum Dare (major bug fixes affecting proper function of the game only; no new content). All bugfixes made in this version are listed on the itch.io page. For the sake of the genuine Ludum Dare experience, the original version will remain available on the itch.io page as a separate download for your consideration. Thank you for your understanding.

I really like the game's stylized visuals. It feels cartoony yet also melancholic. The game overall has a very eerie vibe. The audio/visual effects when throwing an object were also very satisfying. Character design was cute; I like the main character's little hand. I also like the idea of centering the game around throwing objects. It makes me have to be a little more careful than if I could just press a button to attack. I will say that the game has a lot of backtracking. There was a shortcut, but it seems that you can's use it while carrying an object (unless I'm missing something). It also seems like the collision for the area locked behind the 3 pressure plate doors was coded incorrectly, making it impossible to get the final box of scrap. I also question the decision to make the screen fully black when the sun meter goes down, as it seems to waste a great deal of time. Overall, a bit rough around the edges in some places, but has a lot of charm and good ideas. Nice work!

Nice game! I really liked being able to build bridges, and blow stuff up. It was really satisfying throwing the thing into boxes to destroy them as well. Some of the slow traveling to get back to the pit was a bit much, and some extra direction on what exactly I was doing would be nice, but didn't stop me from having fun exploring! Good job

The artstyle here is fantastic! I found throwing things a little finnicky, but I think the game has a really nice vibe, the art and animation works really really well. Love the sound effects too.

This was a joy to play, looks and feels like something i would play on Kongregate some years back, in the best way possible of course. The hand drawn art looks amazing, the sounds everything make are perfect, the feeling of walking handbot around is just great by itself, then you make a very solid exploration/adventure game based around a great mechanic of having to utilize then reutilize basically everything that you can pickup and each thing interacting differently with the scenario makes this absolutely great in every single way. An absolutely amazing game, i had a lot of fun, thanks for making this! (also, handbot is super cute, i love it)

This game is super cool, I love the artstyle and it took me a moment to understand, that your goal is to find friends that help you in the bossfight. I was super impressed by what you have done, and this could really be a very complete game as it is. Minor issues with the hitboxes of enemies, but other than that... very well done!

Hey team, I played your game on stream, it's very pretty and I love all the detail you've put into the locations, enemies and mechanics! I wasn't quite able to beat it, but you can see what happened on the vod here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449607637

Took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to be doing (still not sure I know), but it was fun to play.

Graphics are unique and have a great style.

Ambient sounds were great.

Also enjoyed the mechanic with the wood. I got stuck after taking the shortcut, probably needed to time that one better.

The audios were just so polished among everything that's awesomely executed here. One thing I would say is that the base moving audio is a bit too sharp and can be tiring to listen to in long periods. I might suggest lowering the pitch slightly? Overall great game.

Really reminded me of when I was younger playing random flash games on the internet. I think it was a really good execution of the Jam's theme.

Loved the atmosphere you made because of the music and art. Everything felt really grungy and dirty, it was great. Twice though I couldn't return to the 'planks' section because I used the shortcut and the planks were no longer accessible. Besides that I had a great time, well done!
