It does seem like the failure state may not actually be working, the clock hit zero for me and didn't seem to do anything, I ended up clearing out the board except for one little lone archer that got up on a ledge the soldiers couldn't reach:

If I can offer a note, I did find the actual interaction with the towers a bit hard to decipher. It was unclear when I was actually clicking on an object because there wasn't a sound or visual cue to tell me it had worked.
This is one of the more unique projects I've seen in the jam. I'd love to see this developed further!
@kingofspill Thank you for the great feedback! The Game of Thrones intro was what inspired it in the first place, so I'm glad to hear that we came close to the mark.
I patched the game to fix the ending bug and correct some of the interaction SFX that weren't playing.
