Cold, cold winter and dark, dark forest which you are flying above. And your old small plane's radiator is tired and you're going to crush. You jumped out of the plane and landed safely. But pockets are empty and there is the only one match left. You set up the fire and pray: "Live, Fire, Live!". How long can you live? парашютист.png

By the way, where is the plane?

Description1.png

Search for wood to keep the fire alive. To delay the inevitable.

You may pick up wood branch and add it to the campfire to make it lit brighter. You may take with yourself some fire but only for some time and doing that you will reduce the brightness of your campfire.

Controls:

W,A,S,D - movement

E - pick up wood

F - add wood into the fire

C - pick up fire with you

P - pause

Q - controls

Esc - quit game

You better not to come out into the woods without some light!

There are 3 hidden locations on the map, you can try to find them all.

Hello There,

I really loved the fact that this game doesn't really have a full purpose but is still enjoyable to play. I think a lot of people think that when you create a game, that is has to have a full purpose or an end goal. This game does a really great job standing against the status quo and what you expect a game to be. It was eerie but peaceful creating a very strong mood.

One thing that may be helpful or maybe useless to you is, I am a streamer/Virtual YouTuber. I use a model and when streaming with my model and running the game, my model was lagging. I have only had this happen with big games like Apex Legends but most of the time it does not. So you might want to look into fps/ performance in future games.

The music and sound effects were nice and worked well with the game. I love the written text and credits as well to everyone on the team. Very good work making a fun game that fits the theme.

Visually the game is great! Graphics for 3 days is gorgeous. 2d, 3d on top! But the game itself, to put it mildly, is not disclosed. A map with marks would not be superfluous. It's cool that traces in the snow remain, you can go back on them. Optimization needs work

The game was cozy and had a very warm but also kinda scary mood for me. It was ok but you didn't have much to do besides picking up wood and throwing it in the fire which made it repetitive fast. Maybe you could've add some other tasks to do, that keeping the fire alive is a must for finishing a more important thing. But obviously this is a game jam so no high expectations. I enjoyed it still!

I liked the setting and mood created by the sounds and graphics. I caught a glimpse of a wolf I think, such details add a lot for this type of game. I also liked that it somehow felt relaxing even though it was a battle against time!

Easily one of the strongest moods I've gotten from the game jam so far. Setting out to the woods was eery and stressful but you felt the necessity to get out there and back. Returning back with a big bundle of wood was very satisfying. Graphics look great for the amount of time you could spend on this too, well done!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere you've created, it was quite terrifying to see the eyes of wolves darting around in the darkness. Great work everyone!

@syafire Thank you for your comment. Optimization is a big problem, I sure will try to learn how to deal with that for our next game. Could you please describe your hardware setup?

@perion I agree, there is a lot of things this game needs. Right now you can explore the forest, there are some interesting places in it

I liked the game. I was a bit confused when I walked in one direction and found another campfire (I think it was my original one?).

My game softlocked pretty soon after that.

Loved the visuals, the sound and the general feel. Well done!

tense & atmospheric. the illustrations leading into the menu were a great introduction, on a time budget like this that little bit of storytelling is commendable. setting off into the dark, trusting your footprints to lead you back to base while the pack of wolves creep closer - loved it

also the sound design was great. very harsh and uncomfortable wilderness makes the fire all the more alluring

I lived for 4:17.. I thought I wasn't too far away from the camp, but I got lost, and couldn't find the way back.
I wish there could be a map, but maybe a map is not suitable for this scenario. without the direction, it made the fetching logs behavior more realistic.
the art design works pretty well, the footstep sfx brought the vibe of a wild snow forest. and the wolves did scare me.
Good job!

me: "I shouldn't walk too far away from the camp fire or I might get lost"

also me after collecting lots of wood: "where am I?"

Nice and atmospheric game. I like the visuals and the lighting effects. Especially the wolves with the glowing eyes. Keep it up!

I have played games with similar concept in this jam, but this one managed to strike a strangely nice and relaxing atmosphere. I guess sometimes all you need in life are simple chores to keep you busy and satisfied. Nice job!

Doesn't run for me :( Windows ZIP. It starts to load, still black screen, and than crashes immediately with "fatal error". The Windows Itch crashes after loading the plane picture with the same error. Any idea why?

You have developed a great mood in this game through the use of lighting and sound. It feels bleak and cold and worrying. The animations and graphics and controls are all well done.

Interestingly, this game is conceptually similar to my game though the setting and presentation are entirely different. A game about supplying resources to something that will eventually die. I think it has a similar flaw to my game in that there is probably not enough variety of things to do.

Overall, though, you did a very good job!

@labete Sorry to hear that. I've added a binary built with a newer version of the engine, maybe it will work better.

@subvertissement I've just added a Linux version. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to properly test it. Could you try running it?

Wow that artwork is amazing. Also the graphics style, I'm really digging it all. Gameplay was simple but also peaceful... until the wolves showed up. The flame going out and trying to figure out where my original firepit was -- scary as heck!

Great game! Delay the inevitable death in the forest from wolves, after your plane crashed! The snow crunching sound effects were great as well! What was this developed in! В общем классная игра, молодцы!

This game is kinda spooky, lol. I didn't notice the wolves at first and just went off into the forest for some wood. Almost died and then just made it back to the fire. Second time I went out I took the fire with me to fend off the wolves, but then I got lost and died anyway :/ 10/10

The atmosphere of WOW IS INSANELY COOL! But there is nothing to do in the game except collecting sticks.. It's sad. But the game has a huge potential!

Straight concept. It remind me "wild eight" with better graphic and warmer atmosphere. It could be a good game. I like it)

It is really interesting project! Beautiful graphics, soft character controlling and cool mood. Really atmosphere game!
And I want to say thanks for great in-game tutorial)
But gameplay is quite boring for me. I think that if you would add something like lost radio so I should find it in the forest it would be a cool purpose. Or something like that.
But still cool!

Got killed because I though wolves should run away from me when I am carrying light. Apparently you got close enough to blind them, then still bite you

Rather atmospheric, but I didn't have much to do. Not sure what direction you want to explore further. More items? crafting? fighting? other survivors?

Also found it strange/interesting that wood is added to the fire in stacks of 8
