Fun little game! My best score was 234! I was a bit confused at first until I read the instructions, perhaps you should show the instructions first thing before the game begins? The difficulty seems to really ramp up fast as well, nothing a little bit of play testing couldn't fix. Well done!

Man, that was way fun and in many ways felt fresh for some reason. A return to simpler times. Although having a way point for soldiers would be a cherry on top.

Really good, I always love strategy jam games, never felt like I "broke" it either, no matter how many units or how much income I had the aliens always felt like a pressure.

This is an amazingly well balanced game! So fun to play, really simple but lots of depth, I had fun building my walls and trying to funnel stuff around. The aesthitic was cool too

Super cool game. Stopped playing around the the 2400 score mark as it was starting to get a bit laggy haha. I put down 2 money generators in the early game which was dicey, and then managed to build an economy until I could start placing down turrets about once a second. After that it was good night aliens.

Very impressive compo. A quick music track probably would have helped, but there is only so much time we had right? This has been one of my favorites so far.

Very nice! LarsDu is right, it does remind me of old UMS maps in Starcraft 1. I love the overall look of it, good enough sprites reinforced by simple but nice animations. The decomposing monster bodies animation was a nice touch. ;)

One bug I found - the turret / pillbox doesn't seem to have any sound when firing.

On my first attempt I managed to get 354 kills. The second one went a bit better:

Fun game! Started lagging a lot once I got to 1000 kills because of the number of enemies. Recommend having the in-game information presented before starting the game.

Really nice submission! Thanks!

Good and fun idea, my best score: KILL 371 xD It seems to me that polishing the art can make something much more attractive, a better design of the characters and animations, I think that would add much more points. Great job!!

I had a blast with your game! It's super fun.
Died fast in the first few rounds. But after I got the hang of it I made some great score!

The gameplay is all set, but the art and sound design could be improved.

Hope to see you in the next LD!

Cool game. I liked how you made top-down strategy controls simple and effective. Sound effects could have used some extra work but it was better to have them than not. The aliens got me eventually!

This was really well done! I got to 3613 kills just by spamming turrets. There was a lull where I basically stopped getting income, even though the kills were still rolling in, so I'm not sure what that was about, but it was really fun otherwise. I like the matching 8bit art and sound effects. The tool tips and info were really nice for an LD game. Nice job!

Dat Starcraft feeling was great :D

The only thing missing that may have been added during the compo was some kind of UI / text to explain what the different buildings were doing, would have made a huuuuge difference ! (EDIT ! I'm dumb, it's literally on the itch.io page...) I had to experiment a lot to get the hang of it. But overall, PRETTY FUN !

Fun little game. Performance needs a little work, it starts lagging pretty quickly. I also noticed that once you put down 3-4 money buildings, the economy kind of breaks; for the rest of the game you can build faster than aliens can destroy.
Also, soldier movement seems kind of buggy, they don't seem very able to move around buildings. And the wall building didn't seem particularly useful; I used it once but found that you're generally better off using a turret as a wall since it can take more damage while also killing enemies.

Wow! My high score was 570. It was hard to stop playing. Feels like this has a ton of potential.

The controls feel a little clunky. But I love using the pause button to explain what's on screen. That let me learn a lot of information really quickly, and I was able to put things in context. Other games I've seen try to explain things in text on a separate screen, and it really helps to have the text right next to the items on the HUD.

Good job with this!

needs three things:

1) Tooltips

2) a downloadable version

3) this soundtrack "zerg must die"
