Penguin Rituals by mmisspelling
What? You've never heard of penguin rituals? They're something that absolutely exists (sources: trust me bro). And they save the world too! Play the game to find out more, talk to the other penguins of the city, and find out what it is all about.
Controls: arrow keys to move, x to interact.

I think it's the Ludum Dare that I put the most effort in. I liked how the idea turned out and how it changed along the way. The amazing moody music was made by @Trace98!
Only changes I made after publishing are because I failed to load a sprite and an audio track correctly oops.
This is a blogpost regarding the development and some considerations.

Good job!
I enjoyed the personalities of all the penguins. There's a lot you can get across just from character design and a few lines of dialogue.
Great job!
I'm a BIG fan of game progressions that involve repeated actions, so the orb challenges were very satisfying to me. And not to brag (even though I am), I was able to complete 2 of the orb challenges first try.
I type from my heart when saying this, you two did an ASTOUNDING job here! Absolutely wonderful game! And yes, I AM a curious little dude.
I actually found the "hard" orbs easier to get because of the increased time limit, because it took three tries to get the first orb up north but the rest were all first tries for me, lol. I wish there was feedback about having touched the orb - I kept getting nervous about whether I'd made contact enough. Also wish overworld travel was a bit faster (might have upped my chances of being a curious little dude).
REALLY like the music, though, especially the diving music. Although, it was a bit crunchy, but as a fellow Godot user I get it & ignored the cronch for the rating. Mine's crunchy on mobile, but developing with the default audio settings in 3.4.4 made the PC one nice and not-crunchy, so you might look into your audio latency settings I think someone said was behind the cronch.
@papabirb you are definitely right - the orb sections could've been done better and the time window's a bit too tight... i also was not aware that there are issues with the audio, thanks for bringing it up, i'll pay attention to that next time!
I love that you made a game with penguins though, it's so cute
Also, I wish the player on the map went juuuust a little faster. Either way, good submission! :)
I like diving as a mini-game and a drop controller, but the location of the underwater rocks has reduced the fan for me.
It seems to me that jokes that break the 4th wall knock you out of immersion in history. It's a pity, because the characters are very attractive and the world feels convincing enough to empathize with the inhabitants of the island.
You've got a very atmospheric little adventure.
Good job!!
The orb sections were challenging, but not unfair. The music really set the mood, the game has this melancholy vibe which contrast really well with the cute characters. Overall, great unique entry. Please keep making games!
