You have my respect. I always wants to come up with simple yet challenging and fun idea and every time i try to do so i failed. But your game delivery this without any problem. :)

Having sideways movement controls is an interesting twist on the "Flappy Bird" mechanic. Well done!

also, i don't see the point of having 3 lives if you reset either way.
Took me a bit of time to figure out that I can "puff" it at any distance as long as I am not blocked by a spike - at first I thought puffs only work at close distance.
Did you manage to complete the level yourself?
Definitely reminds me of the flappy bird, haha. Cash in on this while it's fresh!
I'll see if there is a way to communicate to the player that "puffing" can work at any distance. Maybe integrating it into the level, like a wall of spike that requires 2 subsequent puffs.
Maybe you could throw people weak like me a bone, and destroy a spike that I lose a life to? Just that I can maybe get further along :)
For me it was hard, but I don't really like flappy-bird-like games either.
