Candler by SunJet
Candler greets you in his endless adventure. Accidentally, he lost his home and now he should survive under the rain, saving his light.

Control Candler's jumping using mouse. Remember, he can jump only to nearest tiles, he's not John Cena :)
P.S. I came here accidentally and had 30 hours to make my first (hope not last) game ever. Thanks, Ludum Dare, for such a great experience, I hope we'll meet again soon :)

About the improvements: I wrote down for myself a lot of ideas from the start of game jam but lack of skills and time did their job :)
This game has the possibility to evolve. first game!

In terms of areas to improve, I wasn't certain initially whether the blue circles represented the shadow of rain about to fall, or a puddle of water coming up from the ground (and if the latter, whether I could safely jump into/over them). I'm still not absolutely certain at what point squares with anything on them become safe/harmful (since obviously the whole point of the game was to try and stay on the clear ones!). A little more audio would also be welcome - maybe some drippy water sounds for when rain falls.
All in all, though, a great entry - especially for your first go at something like this. I hope you will come back with another entry for a future jam!
The core idea is simple but pretty well done, nice job for the first compo entry done in 30 hours.
One area that might require some work IMHO is difficulty (which is always so hard to make right): once I grasped the basic concepts of gameplay the difficulty stopped rising pretty quickly and hence stopped giving me challenge but rather waiting for me to make a mistake
Good job anyways!
I was streaming my playthrough of your game, here's a recording in case you'd like to see it https://youtu.be/1s0mnrLO_ak

Great work, and especially awesome since it is your first jam game.
The only thing you could improve is the explaination of the control (i.e. that you have to ** click ** with the mouse)
See you on the next Ludum Dare!
