Avoidance Advanced by KidderTTV

[raw]
made by KidderTTV for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

HEAVILY INSPIRED BY ORBITER! This is a game where you are trying to collect the energy from an alien planet. They are undoubtedly going to send ships to stop you. Can you stop the inevitable and avoid being struck? Difficulty increases as you collect more! I challenge you to get to 30+ points to experience the highest difficulty.

Nice! Quick idea, you could make the planet another color so it's more obvious that it's an alien planet. I was confused why the aliens were coming at us from Earth. :P

Very simple! You could of made it a bit more harder though. Also, you should turn off sprite smoothing if your making a pixel art game!

Nice, I haven't played Orbiter so this mechanic was new to me and it's very fun. Your art is nice as well which adds to the experience. Great job!

didn't know the clouds were energy collectibles initially, maybe if the enemies spawned always at same time and direction, then player could learn the steps to avoid.

Really simple idea, def something I would love to see on mobile.

A lot of directions for you to go towards with this one as well. You could make it a bullet hell game, you could make it into a rythm game. It would really work.

Right now the art seems a bit off for me (planet is blurred, assets don't go together), but other than that, good job!

Very nice job, very simple mechanic that allows you to get the full experience really quickly. Very hard the longer you go! Some sound would have really been nice but otherwise no complaints.

A pretty simple game, it's good enough on its own, but I wish there was something more in it and reaction time could be adjustable, maybe by some difficulty setting?

Super simple controls, but an interesting challenge! Shame my brain is so old and slow these days.

The game is simple and fun. You can make this a mobile game and it will probably sell a lot

Really cool game! Only thing missing is some music. I get it why going above 30 points is hard :) Good job, it was really fun to play.

Pretty fun. I managed to get 28 on my first play through. I think I would have preferred using spacebar over mouse click, especially when playing on a laptop.

Nice entry. I could see this being a phone app or micro-game in Wario Ware. Simple yet fun.

That's pretty difficult considering how simple it is! I know it goes against the backstory you've written, but gameplay-wise, you could make it more of a spatial awareness game than a reaction game if the UFOs came from the edge of the screen rather than from the planet in the middle. Alternatively, you could do both for some variety!

Nice work!

Simple but effective! It just lacks music in my opinion. I could totally play this game on my phone in transport!
