Rocket Lawnchair by jitspoe
"Yee-haw!"

Attempt to keep your lawn chair in the air as long as possible before you inevitably smack into something.
Q A L P control thrusters (Or LB, LT, RT, RB on controllers).
Note: Some keyboards don't let you press all the keys at once, so try a different keyboard or use a controller if this is the case.
Land in a pool, and a friendly neighbor will give you a fuel tank upgrade so you can stay in the air longer! :)
Press ESC to see your best flight time (and adjust settings).
If you like challenging physics-based games like this with funny voice lines, you should also check out Goop Loop on Steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1454550/Goop_Loop/ It was originally made for the "Stuck in a loop" theme on Ludum Dare and expanded into a full game.

Download worked fine though. I like goofy games but man is it difficult! best I could do was stay in air for just barely 3 seconds.
ok, I definitely played this longer then it took to get a feel for the game to rate it - +1 I kept playing points
the music, SFX, audio lines all fit well with the game play and 'setting' of the game.
it does appear that the seat belt is underrated for the situation... my passenger kept coming off at the slightest bump.
all that said, I would have loved it if the rotational momentum imparted to mr rocket was a bit less from the rockets, the rate at which you need to pulse the rockets to steer was faster then my reflexes could handle. but maybe that is part of the charm of the game.
Also I broke the game, oops.

@floatingvertex There are downloads available for Windows and Linux if you have problems with the web version.
Run into a small issue : couldn't register more that 2 key press at a time (but it's an old keyboard, worked on my more recent laptop)
Great work :)
Pretty difficult. I could only get 2.95 seconds!
@ruruie Well, you see, I said something about a rocket launcher one day on stream and chat was like, "Rocket lawnchair?" then Ludum Dare rolled around and I made a game where you fly a rocket lawnchair!
Thanks for the game
I managed to land two times in a pool and got upgraded tanks. I landed in another pool (but without the chair) and I don't think the tanks changed after that, or maybe there are just 2 upgrades?

Fantastically silly little sim!!
I am going back and forth in my mind whether the music should have been playing all the time (maybe it would get old?) or just when you launch (I never heard more than 5 seconds of it haha).
I can see this being fun once you get to stay in air more than 3 seconds.
Cool game!
Overall a pretty nice game! Good job
Got to 4 or something. Had no idea how to improve upon that. Super fun idea! The dialogues and humor were glorious.
Extremely difficult, very fun and it works well. Nice voice acting.
I'm not really sure if there are any nits to pick, maybe just that the sounds and music get really repetitive after a few tries.
I really liked it overall, good job!
@nyxkn & @mvasko2 If you land in a pool, a neighbor will give you a bigger fuel tank, so you can fly further, land in more pools, and stay in the air longer!
@dreamerflow You might have an issue with ghosting on your keyboard preventing more than 2 keys from registering at the same time. You can try playing with a controller instead, if you have one (use bumpers and triggers).
My record was juuuuust about 8 seconds. The controls seem almost inscrutable at first, but after several attempts, I felt like I was starting to get an actual strategy going for how I could stay in the air longer while remaining stable. So mad respect once again for making a game that is legitimately challenging, but still totally learnable. I've already seen some players get CRAZY good at this.
Great entry!
