Baked Snake by ZooHair

[raw]
made by ZooHair for Ludum Dare 50 (COMPO)

Cover_real.png The snake is so baked that he forgot how to move. It also had a severe case of the munchies. So help it eat before it dies of hunger. fyi: the furthtest preys have the biggest score

took me a while to get used to the controls. though i wasnt able to get to the eggs on the outside, not sure if those are reachable. i really liked the music it fit in well.

I know that the game is a bit hard but the eggs are reachable. you just need to find that sweet spot.

I laughed a lot watching the baked snake. The sound effect helps too! I'd have liked to see the snake be able to move forward. Good game!

Fun game - the physics on the snake are super satisfying, and I agree it would be good on mobile!

Very cool idea for a control scheme, I've never seen anything quite like it! It was a fun game and would make for a great mobile app, well done!

Very original! :star:

I think with a bit more polishing, this would make a good mobile game.

I love the weird twist on a otherwise pretty simple idea. I wish the controls were a little faster to respond, but they're very innovative overall. The art and sound are great and the whole presentation is very polished. Nice job!

I like the taking of the constantly moving snake from Snake and making it not move anywhere, yet still making it hungry. Neat idea!

The spring/whip mechanic was surprisingly expressive. It took a bit of practice to understand how much to move to catch some prey, and I wanted to try a few times before stopping. Having a time meant I also had a score to beat, compelling me to play.

The music and sound effects were fun to listen to. Good work!

Simple but fun idea. I think it would be great on mobile if polished up a bit. Maybe add some obstacles or something to give it more depth. I did experience some lag playing on web, especially whenever the smoke particles played. Wasn't too bad though, overall good job!

The food stopped for a bit, which seemed unfair, but I suppose that is inevitable. Perfect for the theme.

I liked that this was a little deeper than expected. It could be good to help the player know that there is a sweet spot on the swinging - because they may get confused and feel they can never go wide enough to get the furthest out food. I think it was a neat skill based game though, requires good prediction and accuracy to do well in.
