It was enjoyable, then I realized that I could stack the dishes in the same spot, get the bar of soap thing, then destroy all my dishes; It was even more enjoyable after that.

We had the same game idea! I hope you also ended the weekend with a huge pile of unwashed dishes :) Nicely done.

Fun idea for a game, and very relatable, not at all something that I did over the game jam weekend. This was a fun optimization problem in a game, and the limits of the area meant that the inevitable filling of the grid was always in sight. I did have some issues figuring out which tile counted as the center of some of the objects, notably the banana, but once I had that figured out I really enjoyed the game. It was also nice to have music, It added a lot to keeping me engaged. Overall a great game, well done!

(P.S. the link to your game suggests that it was going to be a download for just Windows, it may be worth changing the listed platform to HTML5 instead.)

I'm so good at this in real life... but not so great at it in a game apparently!

I love the interpretation of the theme. It'd be more intuitive to play if the grids the object will fall into are highlighted before I put them in.
