My aim was godawful and my little squirrel legs were so slow chasing after those acorns, but this game was very cute, and I always love to be pro-nature! Nicely done!

This perspective confusing me. I cannot aim properly but squirrel is cute

Game looks great, and the squirrel is really cute! Sadly it's a bit hard to aim and sometimes it feels like the projectiles go right through the enemies.

Good game, same problem here as a people above have mentioned, hard to aim, it is mainly because of camera projection you've set to be orthographic, if you switch this to perspective it would be easier to aim.

Also game become really repetetive with only one type of enemy

Nice entry! Really like the low poly graphics style. That's a lot of modeling/animating in 48hrs. Well done :D

Wait...how does an acorn disintegrate a full grown man? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Either way, it was fun to do! Similarly to others, I had trouble with the aim but positioning directly south of them and throwing directly north was pretty much 100% accuracy for me. So although it could use some work, I don't believe it made the game unplayable. I was really hoping this wasn't an infinite play until death game but unless I just wasn't fast enough it eventually got to this...

I think it was pretty much impossible at this point and therefore inevitable. Definitely on theme!

Low poly graphics are always cool to me so you did a nice job there too. Thanks for the entry!

@clemonades exactly.. and this was my first low poly modeling and animating (thank you, youtube).
@Dandala88 you see those sparks coming from those nuts? that is magic that does the disintegration :)
Sorry for the aiming... not sure why I chose ortographic .. I guess all those 2D games I made till now did some damage..

Nice game. It took me a little while to get the hang of aiming and throwing the nuts. A timer showing how long my tree survived could help to keep track of score.

I love the modelling and animation on the squirrel - really cute. Since you did all the characters including the tree it let's all of the art have a very consistent art style. The location of the nuts on the ground to pick up is really easy to find and identify too which was nice to see and appreciated.

Lovely models, especially the squirrel. Had a hard time aiming and the controls felt a bit sluggish but otherwise really well done!

Gameplay loop is good, could use some more things to do in game and bigger colliders for enemies would be great. Ah yes, cute animal is big plus :D

Nice little game! It's a little difficult to control, but overall, well done!

The game is fun, the idea behind it is cool and implements the theme very well. Graphically it's really cute and looks good, although a bit too shiny. I like the throwing mechanic a lot, but aiming feels way harder than necessary. The only shots I could reliably land were vertical and close. Horizontal shots seemed impossible for some reason. I love that the acorns bounce and you need to collect them before throwing them. Also, moving around feels a little too slow and vertical movement looks slower than horizontal. I don't know if it's because of the perspective or what. Remember to to normalize the vector you use for moving things around and multiply it to the speed. Good job!

As others have said, aiming is really difficult in 3D space with a camera that only stays on one side and especially in orthographic mode. Really messes up our monkey brains trying to interpret a 3D space when far away things are the same size as close things.

Having said that, I love the unique idea of this game. I wager that this is the only game in all of LD50 where you play as a squirrel! I think that if you redesign the camera and aiming a little bit you could have a really neat game in your hands.

Well done with this one! I was able to disintegrate 26 woodcutters before the tree fell.

The idea is good and the graphics cute, but the aiming is awful and make the game unplayable.

Change the camera from orthographic to perspective, reduce the projectile "arc", and maybe increase the nuts trigger size, it doesn't have to fit the graphics. It's usually a good idea to "cheat" in favor of the player if the exact physics makes the game too hard / frustating.

The game was simple and fun to play. But the aiming system was little inaccurate due to the perspective of view.

I like the graphics in general but those two in the upper left corner are mesmerizing to me for some reason. Did you hand draw those or are they 3D models with outlines applied? One piece of feedback I'd give is something I think others have said: the aim feels a bit off. I also had a bit of trouble with the hitbox on the nuts. Making it a bit bigger would probably solve that problem pretty easily. Either way, good job!

Agree with most of the above, fun game but the aiming was hard. I ended up with one guys on the tree that seemed impossible to hit so I ended up failing because of it. Not being able to hit him at all is probably me being bad at games though :D Overall, I liked this one :)

@daniel-username screenshot of those 3D models without background with outline.. I'm too lazy to draw anything like that

Wow, very nice weird graphics, these game gave me a very nice feel in the visuals department. And I liked the physics of throwing stuff, first they are a little annoying, but then they achieve some addictive feel.

The only minor complain - enemy AI isn't very good, half of the men were stuck in the stumps.

As a powerless little squirrel it is a comfort to see a man get stuck on a stump and to know that you can save your acorns, your tree, and your livelihood for a few more sweet moments of life.
