And this game works quite well. The core gameplay loop is surprisingly fun and it was fun to try different strategies with upgrades. Getting a lot of mana regen was the meta for me that carried me.
If there would be something I would hope to be added (during the jam), that would be sound effects. Those would really boost the feeling of battle. I would also like that my units and enemy units would be easier to distinguish. Orcs are easy to spot but humans units are not.
Overall, great job in this short jam time to get a game like this running!
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it! I almost gave up halfway through. It was planned to add more spells and monsters but i did what i could :P
The game was actually pretty great, though I did delay the inevitable, I became a wizard with a fireball machine gun!
Its a bit too hard to tell your mercenaries apart from the human enemies.
Also a crosshair would have been useful to help with aiming, though with high mana regen aiming becomes irrelevant.
The Linux build works, but doesn't grab the mouse so you can't turn very far.
