Sapper Master by yusovv

🕹️ PLAY: https://risedev.itch.io/ld50-sapper-master
🎮 Control: finger or mouse To cut a wire, hold down the left mouse button and drag the pointer to the opposite side of the wire to make a cut. (Below you can see an example of how to do this)
🧨 There is no winning in the game, only losing.
💣 The bomb timer is set for three minutes, a new reaction puzzle is generated every three seconds, you need to cut the wires marked in the color on the indicator and score points.
😊 We wanted to make an interesting reaction game, but it turned out to be a swipe-to-pixel simulator. After the jam, we want to finish the game and release it on mobile devices.
❤️ Thank you for your ratings and comments, you are the best!

Some minor comments; indicating the correct wire to cut can be quite confusing at times. There are five lights that are positioned in a way that the user may think the they need to cut the wire at the same position as the light. This was the case for me since I'm partly color blind and it took me a while to start seeing that lights have colors. Color blindless is always a challenge to games like this but I think you can mitigate the issue by choosing the set of colors a bit more carefully. Red, green, yellow, blue is probably not the best combination. Also, consider changing the graphics so the user understands it is the color they need to look for, not the position.
Overall, a nitfy little game. I'm sure you could do a lot with this theme if you kept developing it after the jam!
Perhaps after the jam we will release an improved version of the game only for mobile devices with a rating, I have already started drawing the interface. Thanks!
@kisilin Thanks!
@stalemeat Our choice of colors is not the best, I know. The game is very easy to understand, thanks for the feedback!
I would like to see more variety in the "puzzle" of the game, maybe sometimes the wires go horizontal, maybe sometimes they criss-cross, maybe sometimes you need to cut the wire at a particular location instead of with a particular color?
@mostel мерси! :smirk:
In my first play-through, I got in a state where there where 2 sets of wires drawn over each other. The I died, since that was my third heart.
All in all, it's a bit repetitive, but the art is slick, and I like the way the cuts actually erase the pixels.
Was this inspired by 'Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes' by any chance?
@remco Thank you very much for your feedback! Already after we downloaded the game, we remembered “Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes”, by the way, it is amazing, there is an incredible number of puzzles
Great entry!

Guys, thanks to everyone who left feedback to help us improve the game - it’s very important for us.
We continue to develop the game, but keep a low profile, after the jam is over, we will port the game for mobile devices:
1. Starting game tutorial
2. Interface and level system for the game to increase its difficulty.
3. Working on bonuses and improving the gameplay.
4. The main game mechanics will remain the same, but we will improve it, make it more flexible.
5. The most important thing is that now you can win the game and get points.

I got to 107.
Was a little confused at first, but got the hang of it soon enough. I too had a easier time with horizontal cuts. Looking forward to more variety, but the core gameplay is there. Congrats and thanks for the game!
I like the cutting, that it is not yes/no but the player really cuts-in! Curious how you implemented tis.
I like that the colour is not just shown at same place, but changes, which creates even more stress.
Flawless controls.
The game creates stress for me, which is the intention. I personally look for zen-games, so I would not play it more often than I did the jam game.
Impressive what you did in the short jam!
Overall the game works, that´s the important thing. It was difficult to understand what cables one should cut. A mini tutorial would be a great improvement.
The audio is good but you should diferenciate between right and wrong choices.
I once run into this weird bug

It was like there were multiple instances of cables, including the sfx.
Great entry, a little polish and this game is good to go. Congratulations!
Thank you very much for your feedback!
- playing with a mac touch pad is appearently real hard
- what do I have to cut in these cases?

Though the wire cutting mechanic is very finicky. I would expect the cutting line to be well... actual `line` rather than stretched ellipse. Not once the game failed to register my cut, because, I started very close to the wire I need to cut, dragged way outwards, the final ellipse corner got positioned behind cuttable wire. Making me repeat the cut again.
Great effort, it is really just two of you? or you had a bigger team?
