Somnus by Stending

Take part in a asynchronous multiplayer experience in which remembrances and thoughts from all over the world are converging into one place. But beware, the sun is rising and you will wake up soon...

🌜As you put yourself to bed, you feel a sense of unrest. Tomorrow is an important day..🌛
As you close your eyes, you join, as every other night, the realm of thoughts, dreams and worries. You venture into all these confounding and conflicting emotions, remembering places, times, dates and things you have a strong connection with.
We all know these moments, right before falling asleep, when we roam between all of these sentiments. We do it together, at the same time, simultaneously.
Somnus aims to crystallize those moments, making you able to explore this place between two worlds and to interact with other people's dreams, recollections and remembrances, while inciting you to share some of these (in)significant memories.!

You venture into a dreamy world of emotions, full of remembrances and thoughts coming from other players. The sun is rising fast, and you must visit and reconnect with each sanctuary in order to delay the dawn. Maybe this initiatic journey will help you in the following day...

- A/Left Arrow: Go left
- D/Right Arrow: Go right
- Space: Jump
- E: Interact/Read
- X: Drop a remembrance
- C: Let go of an ephemeral thought
- Mouse: Select (in menus)

Wish we saw more of these "walking simulator" games in game jams. :)
There is an ambient sound of wind between the first levels, but it seems that a bug makes this sound disappear after a while..
Overall very strong experience :)
Messages remind me alot of nicovideo.jp or souls. Last location is locked, so I was kinda there waiting for game to end. Anyway good idea with this game and seems like it might be worth to return to it later to see new messages.
The music fit perfectly, but when it stopped between the buildings it was a little jarring.
The character graphic was nicely done.
The text was cut off for me on the initial screen unless I played in full screen or maximized the browser window.
Hope to see more of such games in future game jams
