made by cdunham for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

Delay the inevitable! There's a dragon approaching your village, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. However, the villagers might be able to be saved... but you will have to die first.

I like the graphics, and the controls, and the music was catchy, but the dragon never showed up! After waiting for the timer to count down the dragon slowly made his way from 200m away and then stopped moving at 90m. No idea why.

Also what were the point of the goblins (Yodas)? Killing them didn't seem to do anything.

I found that pushing the villagers around was way quicker than getting them to follow me. Not sure where I was to lead them though.

@claytonrumley Thanks for playing! Yeah, we were planning on having different triggers for the dragon and events that the player had to overcome to help the villagers live. There's no "winning" in this version though, as we didn't have enough time to do it all. Not sure what caused the dragon to bug out though

I really liked it! Looks like a beggining to a fun game! More info would be nice, as to where lead the villagers? As of now I lead them to cracked stone gate and waited for dragon that didnt come xD But the mechanics are here, they are nice. Villagers could be a tiny bit quicker, but in general I like the mechanic with leading them, speaking to them and so on. Floor tiles are to be fixed, but the graphics are nice overall. It shows that you ran out of time on some things, but in general it looks like a start of really fun project to develop further! You have the basics set, just add quests, visuals to enemies with health bars and attacks and it could be a really fun game! As of now its all really cool, but you dont have too much to do :) Keep up the great work! :D

Visual style and audio is great, love the sword slashing- wish enemies had a "hurt" sound or image to indicate more that you'd hurt them. I'm not sure quite what to do, though- I was killing a few enemies and kind of just waiting for the dragon to arrive. Unfortunately I'm stuck at 90m- the timer seems a little funky and inconsistent, like the dragon isn't moving a consistent pace and gets slower the closer he gets?

Cool entry! I wasn't sure what to do with the villagers, so I just gathered them around the fire to wait for our inevitable doom. Nice art and good controls!

Nice graphics on everything except the textboxes, could have used a nice font. More responsiveness needed in terms of hitting enemies and getting hit I noticed my live go down but the goblins were too far away to touch me. Good luck on getting 20 ratings you guys should probably start rating some games only 10 days left.

Cute colors and music! :) Running, chopping enemies - Nice! :) Refine the battle with enemies, add a plot on Tarot cards and you can release the game! :) Good job! :)

Not sure what I was supposed to be doing. I think the dragon got lost. The distance got to 0 then it started going up again. The comments the villagers made were fun.

@janku @realtanhen @jelch @digitaldude555 @ksimaster @someone Thanks for playing! We fixed some stuff that you guys mentioned, and we'll probably add more in soon. We'll take the ratings off of whichever version you guys want, but if you want to come back and play more once its more finished that's cool too

Really liked the graphics style and concept at large! I've honestly played it a few times now, the first few times I had the dragon bug mentioned above. However it seems to be working now! I'm glad the timer and distance were shortened, it feels a lot better now length wise. And the dragon showed up and ended me

In general I like the world you all put together for this. As others have said, it would be really fun to play this where the Tarot cards would be sorta random as you are protecting the village from whatever doom is coming. I hope you continue to work on this and expand it out some more!

@adrenallen The plan is to make a somewhat complete version, so hopefully we can work on that soon! We got too ambitious in this one, but I want at least some of the stuff that we planned to be put in eventually.

Good job with this game. The graphics were nice and the audio. Controls felt pretty good.

A good effort. I can see what you were going for but it seemed like the whole idea was not completed. I like the art and music. The game crashed for me as soon as the dragon turned up so I am not sure what the outcome was, but based on the amount I fire I can imagine.

I think the biggest struggle is knowing where to go or what to do. I like the graphics, the combat could be pretty fun with polish, but I just didn't really know what to do, and got lost. I'm interested to see what a full version could look like.

Neat idea, and I like the variety of villagers each with their own name and dialogue. There's definitely lots of cool directions you could take this for a post-jam version (maybe have the villagers give hints about what you need to do to stop the dragon?). Nice work!

Interesting villagers and I enjoyed the art. My sword sounded like a lightsaber, so that was fun! Besides that I didn't really know what to do, I killed a couple goblins and took all the villagers on a hike that ended in a BBQ.

Well done!
