I just think it was a little hard sometimes, because I got stuck and I couldn't jump out.
I kind of wish that the upward and downard attacks had more range and gave you momentum like the side ones, to really supplement the movement toolkit of the character. Would give even more weight to the heat management mechanic. (Because you'd have more utility in your attacks, so the competition between them for your heat gauge would be fiercer. As is, it's mostly the side attacks that feel "worth it".) Also it would be nice to have a total heart counter? It felt a little empty collecting so many but not seeing any "progress", since time was endlessly ticking down.
Really cool entry, great job on the feel of that character!
Thank you for the gentle comment! The movement was the core of the game, so I didn't want to half-bake it. I'm glad it work well!
@arqitech
Thank you! Yes, the game is still buggy, and zombi crowd is really messy and can cause glitches... I hope it wasn't too harsh...
@fae-pdf
Yes! Thank you for complete comment! And I've the time to finally add the lore "in game" (it doesn't have to count for the Ludum Dare, but I add it because it feel important to me. And well, just let say that 1 minute in play is 1 hour in the game universe, that would feel better.)
And yes, I could have been fun to add momentum to the other attack... I didn't because the dash was kinda an "outsider" in my original game view, but it's could be good to test that way.
Oh, and for the "total heart counter", it is implemented in the new version (and even rewarded. That's why it felt important to me to have the intro/outro to the game, even if it didn't count for the Ludum Dare notation).
Thank you for all these feedback!
Another thing I would enjoy is little changes in the level design. It's sometimes really hard to see if you can manage to jump on a platform. It feels a little unfair.
The intro and outro add for understanding the context and the theme, they are a nice little addition. Good job!
In games like these i always need some type of highscore-counter to keep me engaged for longer. nonetheless: great work - i enjoyed it :>
You did your best, and that's what's important. (And thank you for the compliment, I'm glad you like it!)
@don-fouts
I do wish too xD. Unfortunately, I already did overtime to make the intro and outro, I couldn't cheat more... Plus, I'm REALLY bad in music... But I would have like to contact a sound designer or musician to help me, but jam timing make it impossible. That's happens.
@chocolat-endive
Thank you for all your feedback! And yes, some platforme are a little buggy and I did not tweak the LD enough to make it clear when you can reach a certain point or not (I kinda did the LD deep in the night while tired by the day... that what not the best idea) but I'm still happy with the overall result for something done in just one draft.
And thank you for the overall compliment!
@itskdog
Thank you, I call that "shape and grade because my pixel art was bad"! I change that after taking half a day trying some pixel art character. The placeholder version finally was better (also, the nod to Ms Pacman was purely accidental but welcome!).
I add multiple jump to compensate the bad jump, but forget to show you how many jump you still have (and when you get them back). Maybe I will make a better version after the jam with more clear feedback too.
@gabbeeder
Yes, I understand, maybe I should make it so each heart give more time. I had hard time to make the tweak because I'm use to the game but I didn't playtest it... But I hope you still enjoy the game despite these little problem!
@riley9
Thank for all your sweet words! I have in mind to make the "high score counter" to, at least, remember the highest local score, but I ran out of time. And I prefer to spend it into multiple ending which feel more "right" for my little game. It was also a little fun to write ending for when you collect 0 heart!
I'd argue there's a lot of words in there ^^# for my linking at least
but the story's really sweet
works well
the mechanics and all
great all rounder
great work kudos to you :)

Have a great day, I hope to hear from you soon - thanks for that great moment I spent testing your little nugget of a game, and see you in the chat during the stream, I hope :heart:
Yes, I should give back the jump when getting hurt, to help in that case... It's a little oversight. But I'm glad that the game feels good! It was a key point to me!
@reygis
Thank you! I wanted to avoid the "end of the world" that most of people wanted to go first, and having a "sweet harsh" end seem like a very good mood to me!
@caeonosphere
Yes! I agree, it would have been better to always move (atleast a little) when using it. Would also help to navigate in this big world !
@team-choo-choo
Thank you ! I read the comment too late but I hope you had fun!
@satacat
Yes, I would have to rework the jump if I want to continue the game... Maybe just changing the LD and making getting hurt by zombie make you recover your jump could work... But thank you for all the feedback and nice comment! Humour is always important to me (maybe too much)
