A Card Game by Nicso

[raw]
made by Nicso for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

A Card Game .. Or is it ? Yes it's a card game screen02.jpg

Controls :

Drag cards with mouse, escape to "quit"

spoilers :

there are two diferent winning conditions.

-pet a dog

-quit drinking

Done in solo but pushed on the third day to "finish" it. I would have loved to add more victory conditions, there are only two for now.

I really like the art and the simple mechanics. I had a hard time zooming to read the cards after right-clicking since moving the mouse off the card makes the hint disappear and zooming often moved the card out from under my mouse. Purely a minor issue though -- really impressive for a jam!

I really like the art-style, how the cards are animated... I won by petting the puppy :)). The concept was really cool, to!

Love the cards feel and look to them!
Not sure if fully understood how i got to puppy but I think that's major win :)
Zoom does feel abit weird but moving card was super silky.
Not sure how this game fits in the theme

Beautiful art! I thought I got stuck twice as I sacrificed the card that had the hint on how to spawn more cards  Once I figured out that mechanic I was able to beat the game!

Greeeat mood! What a fun take on the card game mechancic. Felt really occult and dark, so the feel was great. Also surprisingly good controls, really felt smooth. Great work!

Wow. This was really atmospheric and metaphorical. I got the puppy ending but- yes, let's not talk about how I got the card ;_;
I loved the flood of new cards at the end. Feels like a really interesting metaphor for psychological/mental struggles.

Blown away! I would love - and I must insist there - to see this as a full release, with perhaps more content and story elements to explore. The visuals are awesome, the mood, the sound are great, and for a card game I'm in awe at the game feel. I couldn't quite tell how the whole time mechanic worked, and I sort of won by spamming new cards and trying every possible combination. I really like the experimental aspect to this, trying to deduce how and which cards to combine is a good time, but I went on a limb and randomly guessed a lot of the progression elements. Nonetheless, a very solid baseline. Cheers!

What a beautiful game!I liked animation of the cards^^ But, I think it needs a tutorial for winning composition.

Had to check the description to win the game, however I still enjoined it quite a lot. The artwork is fantastic and the whole mood is very mysterious. Also nice touch with the escape from the game mechanic (tho it's kinda funny (and fair in a way) that you can't quit if you didn't make it past the tutorial xDD)

Super atmospheric and creepy. Difficult to understand at first (I was randomly combining cards), but eventually I got the hang of it. Great concept and decent controls.
Pet the dog :)

Wow! The game is great! Art and sound give very intriguing mysterious atmosphere. I loved how all the controls in the game are done by the main mechanic of flipping and placing cards. Definitely would play the larger version

Beautiful cards, really loved the graphics, was stuck at first when I thought you had to use the random cards you spawn with middle mouse click, got to the present card and nothing would combine with it. Figured it out after restarting the game. The mood is well set, the game plays smoothly and the cards and story interesting, would love to see it extended upon!

Awesome graphics and background music! Feels atmospheric. There is a deep exploration element in the game, so it's played more like a puzzle. That's a twist :) I've forgot to read the hint card at some point, sacrifised it, and wasted a lot of time figuring out what to do next. But managed to get through finally) Loved that "quit game" mechanic, integrated into the gameplay. Another cool thing here I really liked - you have actually another usage for "quit" card. Overall - that's an awesome jam entry, great job!

Hello! I tried your version and I'm happy with it. No crashes, good ping. But to be honest, any card games are associated with poker for me.In ordinary life, I prefer to take risks only in sports - https://melbet.com/ This is my little hobby and an original source of additional income for my needs.
