Some music would add a lot to the atmosphere but beside that it is an awesome conzept of the theme :D Nice graphics too!

I was caught by the cover of your game and was pleasantly surprised about the whole project how good it turned out! Nice use of mechanics and sound design. I think you've definitely hit the theme of the theme. I've had a good gaming experience with it, thank you!

Ahw those cute little aliens! Running after one that walked towards danger, just to leave the other two behind :(
Really sweet project all together :)

What a mix of comfort and anxiety! I love the simplicity, character design, and animations. I agree that some music would take this to the next level. What a great concept, and I could def see this as the base for a much larger puzzle game. I am reminded of Lemmings, Pikmin, and anything by Amanita Design. Thanks so much for the clever little game!

This game was so charming! It is definitely an excellent entry to the Jam. My main critic would be about the audio. Some background music would add to both the audio score and especially the mood. The graphics are fantastic and the concept is a very creative and new interpretation of the theme! Great job!

Nice graphics and sound effects, although there is no music. Fits the theme perfectly, and quite original. Overall good experience!

Really cool game, the graphics and colors are really great ( which is weird because the background is litterally a bunch of random colored pixels ). One of the most complete game regarding sound design I tested yet : the cracks in the ground are a nice touch, and the voice of the little thingie are very cute

Simultaneously charming and nerve-racking trying to keep the little guys alive :sweat_smile:
Good atmosphere from the audio and visuals and definitely on theme, well done.

Pretty neat concept and I really like the art style. One got away and the rest was history!

This is such a great concept.
I love the character animation: it is quite original, it is cute and spooky at the same time. Reminds me a little bit of Adventure Time character designs, which I absolutely adore.
The whistling sound is incredibly soothing, and fits so well with the animation style.
Everything is cohesive and the gameplay is very smooth.
I wonder if it could be expanded with interesting levels of different shapes, and some kind of threshold (time-wise or remaining-squares-wize) to pass to the next level, or perhaps simply add more little ones, or both.

Very cool! Nice and simple, but the cartoon + glitchy graphical style is cool. I'd enjoy playing this with some different shape levels or level expansion!

Those little rascals as so cute. Next time I will nail them to myself.

so wasn't 100% clear on objectives to begin with and I congratulated myself on killing the white things... whoops :)

You are right about the music, I started programming the game very late and didn't have time for that unfortunately, I might have just delayed the inevitable with this and will add some music (or at least some atmospheric rumbling) in a post-jam build :)

Had to keep the scope low for the jam and also thought that progressing to different levels might take away from the thematic aspect of the game but we are discussing a possible future version with a larger environment and more small friends with different behaviours and needs.

@bodcodes @joemid

Nice highscores! The pro-trick to approach 2 minutes is to whistle the least amount you can to let the little ones rest (which they stop doing when called, resulting in more time walking around and cracking the level). ;)

Thanks, if you are curious about how the background was made check out [this site of Inigo Quilez](https://iquilezles.org/www/index.htm) with awesome articles about generating noise with shaders (and a bunch of other stuff). It's a priceless resource for shader programming in every sense.

The rascals are unnailable as they have very thick skin, sorry. :p

@deighta

No worries, we don't know either what the objective is, maybe the white things like it beneath the floor.

This game is drenched in style! The sleek and clean character art, the noisy background breaking away and the animation are amazing to look at. Playing it was also super slick and paired well with the sound design.

The art is really cute! Easy to pick up and play, but really engaging. I was able to get 1:45.47, and every square had fallen out. Maybe some new levels could be fun?

I agree with the other commenters that the art style and whistling noise were well done! I think that if the cracks formed where the creatures were standing rather than it just being random, it would give a lot more depth and strategy in how to move. I also found that there were a few occasions where one of the creatures would sometimes stop moving after a whistle instead of following me like expected. Looking at the other comments and responses, it sounds like that might've been intended, but if so that should be explained somewhere because I assumed it was a bug.
