Gastronauts by MateusBoga
Following the recent discovery of Planet X, GASA has gone bankrupt, and so can no longer afford to buy fuel for their rockets. However, an ingenious engineer had the brilliant idea of trying to burn methane for fuel, and it worked! So, GASA hired YOU, one of the most prestigeous chefs in the world, to create the best meal to produce methane for their missions. Ad astra!

How to play:
Place ingredients on the plate to make a meal for the mission. These ingredients change the abilities and stats of the astronaut. Once in space, you have seconds of that meal, ten of them, which should be enough to get you back home, if you measure your uses well. Gather alien ingredients to make your meals stronger, and find out the right ingredients to get you to Planet X!

Funny, especially as I get enough money to buy anything from the default stock (maybe there are some hidden items, dunno)
Never reached the other planet tho.
Well done!
@grau That's a bug at the moment, sorry about that... And maybe that was the food from previous failed missions? Just a theory xD
@gamejmunk You can sell ingredients in the Shop from your inventory. You also need to return to earth if you want to keep the items you collected, otherwise you die in space and they are lost, donno if this was clear in the explanation, sorry!
I'm not sure what the alien weeds do, but they got me to planet X so I guess things are good.
I liked that you could change direction mid-fart, it allowed for much more efficient space-shopping runs.
A potential sequel could be fixing the space change caused by all the extra C02 released

Good luck on your ratings, see you next LD! :D

@chrissx2 @lone-wolf Thank you for playing :)
Nice to see you again with another project :D I didn't manage to collect a lot of stuff to eat, but starting beans with some cheese did the trick. Not sure the real space is working the way, but why not? :smile: Nice entry, dude!
Instead of the usual earn $1000 then buy the next upgrade (which is fun, but pretty samey once you've seen it a million times), you have the concept of trading up. Using weaker resources to grab stronger resources on the outer rims. This is done via the organic method of simply having the better resources on the outside. This plays more to the risk reward elements of the game. Due to the fact that you have scarce resources, it pushes you to optimize your 10 bursts to make sure you set yourself up for success.
I'm shocked at how well all these elements worked together. Having more tiers of resources would highlight this mechanic even further, but I could already see how the flow of the game worked and was something I haven't quite seen before.
I won after collecting a couple moldy cheeses which seems to be one of the stronger items out there. This game was a serious surprise and I was tricked by it's unassuming nature lol.
I would have liked to get some more info for the ingredients, because I couldn't really figure it out myself, but I don't even care, I just loved it.
And I'm repeating myself :)
I really liked the system, and spent some time exploring which foods would get me farthest. Would love to see the code to abuse it (since I decided after two successful trips to planet X that planet X is for pussies, and went on to explore the outer space)

Would love more content.
Great job!
The concept is intuitive and fun, I like the risk reward of trying to get as much as you can before coming back. Trying to figure out what each ingredient makes by making weird recipes was fun too, even if I'm not sure I understood everything in the end haha.
Also it took me a bit of time to understand that you could sell stuff at the shop!
Managed to get to the planet by Artemis 11 🧀
Thanks for the game and great job!
@neeko69 Yea that's a bug I didn't have time to fix, sorry ^^;
