SharedArrayBuffer' error happened on itch.io as well.
And restarting every 25 seconds while masking it as 10 seconds is a good idea
Great escape room overall!
Elle a cherché et trouvé la mort
All in all, I enjoyed it. But for what it is, it felt a little too short.
(I wont rate the game low bc the problem obv. lies with we)
The grafics were good tho
And im not sure if intendet but the 10 seconds were...slow 10 seconds
- WASD (or equivalent) to move
- SPACE to interact with glowing objects
- Left mouse to click on images that sometimes popup
I hope you get to experience the full game, let me know if I can help you do that
But then something clicked for me.
!> I had JUST played Blink the night before, which has a blind navigation mechanic as well. Lo and behold, walking around in the darkness was possible, AND the timer didn't move! I think I ended up beating the game a bit faster than normal, just because that idea was already primed in my brain so it didn't take long to consider it.
So I thought the idea was super clever, and certainly not something you'd see in a real life escape room. Great plot twist that immediately shot this game up several ranks. Great job!
!> I entered the kitchen immediately after getting into the hallway section since I was doing left doors first then right and that was the first working left door.
Sounds work well with the game though and the visuals are great
But why it can't open in fullscreen?)
Nice work!
I like it:
*Sounds
*Well hit the topic of the competition
*Cool graphics
*Cool screamer!!
I did not like:
*It is not very clear what to do and where to go :)
*The main character stands out too much from the general style of the game
The graphics are imo the strongest aspect of the game as even if the graphic style itself is maybe not the prettiest or the most complex, what stands out is how each room not only has quite a lot of details but also its own distinct look, making it feel real. Things like the door view and the end screen also were nice addition and the screamer animation was great.
The audio is a bit on the minimalist side as the ambiant music is quite discreet but it's a good fit for a horror game + the screamer build up works very well. But I felt there were quite a lot of SFX missing that could have added a small extra touch, like interacting with the book, opening fridge, trying to open a locked door, etc... as that would have made the audio a bit more lively.
I think the Graphics and Audio contributed very well in putting a horror mood. However I felt that the core mechanic of a loop kinda defeats the horror side, as you're only surprised by the screamer on the first loop, then you know what to expect + the loop not only forces you to try to speedrun things without necessarily taking the time to take a look around much but also means you'll repeat things over and over and spend a lot of time in known area, leaving a lot less room for surprise.
Also, few bugs I've found :
- You can move while on the "Wake Up screen", even interact with doors and all. If you were to memorize everything, you could basically just do the whole game without waking up once.
- You can resize the sliders in the settings menu (by dragging their left tip), don't think that's really intended.
