:warning: Known bugs : - Some people experienced an in-game 10 sec timer longer than 10 real seconds. That's a thing i discovered at the very end of the jam, and may have something to do with the fps and me not using timedelta or something… Sorry for that (but you can use it at your advantage)! - I've seen 2 streams where the players were unable to move to any place at some point during their run. I don't know where that comes from and a restart would be needed in that situation.

I did not expect to see something like it
@soskstu some friends tested it and it appears that navigation becomes way easier with a few minutes practice
Was hard to get everything done in under 10 seconds, mostly because the text buttons were small to click and you need to click an object before you can access its actions.
So it was a bit stressful!
I would consider making the actions show on hover
thank you for your feedback
Loved the style of it, and the central mechanic. The timer is also very clever - you are the only person I have come across so far who made the ten second timer last longer than 10 real life seconds!
Great work!
If you’d like to rewatch the playthrough, you can find it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1609823066?t=3h58m28s
Good luck on your ratings, see you next LD! :D

and yea i can imagine that with a laptop trackpad this game must be hell…
that's funny because i just discovered that the large majority of point and clicks i've played were during my childhood, so the circle is complete haha
I was going to be proud of my score, but then I saw elsyia's ... and ... I'll just say, your hitboxes for the buttons could have been a little bigger :)

Had a lot of fun tho and a nice on the point and click genre. The other baby constantly looking at me was terrifying haha.
@hawkin i love seeing people uploading their high score here, it's really rewarding! I agree with you as with many other comments about the difficulty of clicking on the text, i should have put like a transparent object behind them…
Anyway, 61 sec looks like a good score (still 2 times less than some friends haha)
@bobfish Hey! oh thank you for playing it!! when i quit your stream, i was like "well too bad for my game", so it's super nice of you to play it even if i wasn't on your stream anymore at this time!
About the timer, if you're talking about a 10 sec timer before the next flash, it's represented as the 10 red dots on the babycam. but if you're talking (as Elysia said in her stream) about a timer showing how much time has passed since the beginning (more in a "speedrun pov"), yea i could have done it but got overwhelmed at the end by the time passing haha
and i'm really happy someone mentioned the eyes of the other baby hahaha i haven't lost precious minutes doing that for nothing :D
(update: just watched your stream vod, it's great to see people playing it to see what natural game reflexes they have! apparently you encountered some bugs i've never seen (like clipping from inside the bed to the chair for example) :o and about the 10 sec timer being longer than 10 sec, i discovered it watching another stream! It looked more like 10 real seconds on my computer when i did it (walking/pulling/climbing movements should be a little faster too). apparently it may have something to do with fps ?? but i don't really know unfortunately :/)
@baylock thanks a lot! i just finished playing your game! if the babies of your game could escape the room as the one in mine does, they'd certainly do it hahaha
@msplanlos thank you! i wanted to play your game since it looked fun but sadly i don't play on windows and can't… good luck on ratings tho (i see you're doing well for the moment)!
@sheepolution nice to read that! i was afraid everyone's 10 seconds were lasting 15… haha
the game is indeed hard judging on comments, but once you're more comfortable with controls, you can go pretty fast! (i think my record is like 27 seconds, but that's cheating because i had 3 more days to test it
anyway thanks a lot for your comment!
I didn't experience any bugs when I played. Good job, nice game!
happy the plot made you laugh tho! :D
@saxops1 hey, thanks a lot for your feedback! Yea now that many people have tested it, it becomes super clear that this is an issue. I had one friend and my girlfriend to test it during development, the first is a pro point&click player and had no problem, the second has no real video game experience, and she said controls were a bit difficult to master. At this time i thought this would only affect people not used to point&click, but i was wrong. That's why i love this jam, the feedbacks i get here are so valuable to me, for my next games!
@arnochux thank you! i imagine this game is a nightmare for trackpad users… if ever you come back to it with a mouse, let me know :)
@vulpez thank you very much! yea there are some ways to play more safely, but overall it remains a try hard game apparently haha
Having a strict timer combined to a lot of accurate clicking becomes pretty straining for the hand. I lost so many runs due to misclicks that it started to get a bit annoying. For some reason it was also very difficult for me to remember choice positions in their selection wheel. Visual tips like icons could probably have helped.
Also the timer is slightly difficult to follow. You need to focus on accurate clicking so it is hard to switch your focus between the camera and options. Possibly a slight audio feedback about the timer progressing could help here.
But overall, this was a very innovative but simple idea. The execution is very clean and polished. Great work!
I managed to somehoe make the game get in a deadlock by spammin click before menus appeared.
About audio feedback, i actually had it in mind, but when i put a "bip" sound on every second, it became clear that my 10 sec was not 10 real seconds, and within these 10 seconds, some seconds are longer than some others… So i only kept the flash sound, because i didn't want an irregular bip sound…
thank you very much for your feedback!
@unless-games thanks (and double thanks for finding me excuses i didn't even think of haha)!
oh maybe you found the "unable to move to anywhere" bug? i still haven't found what was its cause…
@frozentape thank you so much! don't worry about your slow reactions, it looks like the game is indeed a little difficult ;)
really happy that you liked the mobile music. i really wanted to add more sound effects and music (as i have been working with sound for more than 10 years), but 2 hours before the end of the jam i still didn't have a single sound, and had to prioritize. but at least i made the mobile loop, and i'm so happy when i have a good feedback about it. Yesterday i was watching a streamer playing my game, and he meticulously turned the mobile on at the beginning of every run :D
That was INTENSE.
My partner came in and was trying to talk to me and I didn't even notice him. ^^;;
Well done on the game, a point-n-click with a sense of urgency is very novel and I liked it.
Graphics were cute, sound was fun, level design was involved. Overall a solid entry. :D
Thank you!
i'm super happy you think my idea was original, thank you very much for the compliments!
@evogengames i can't even thank you enough for that comment!!! it made me so happy!
great game!and is this a bug or not?(rate back?)
because obviously that's not supposed to be like that hahaha
(i've already played, rated and commented your game 2 days ago, really liked it!)
I played web version the this page
It's pretty impressive what quality can be achieved with GDevelop. I consider using it for next Ludum Dare as I may team up with my oldest child.
i see what you mean for the texts. it looks like most of the people who talked about that to me said the texts were too short, sooooo… hahaha
and yes, i'm myself impressed with GDevelop. it's the only engine i know (can't really say i master it, but at least i know how to use it fast and properly), and if you stick with 2D, it can do so much, the only limit is your imagination and your sprites hehe
that's such a great idea to take part in ludum dare with your son, i'll be curious about your game for LD52 then!
Everything worked well for me and I didn't catch any bugs. I only wished that a drawer on the right had a "go" option, so I could go directly to it without a need to select the whole chest of drawers first.
I really liked the camera showing its timer with integrated lights. Very nice touch!
Well done!
yea i was a bit caught on the hop with sounds (2 hours before the end of the jam, i had like zero sound). however i managed to finish a loop quickly, that can be heard by turning the mobile on :D
@matt-ravenhall i'm sorry you encountered the bug… i hope i get better for next jam! thank you tho
Good job my friend!
Thank you so much for contributing to our community!
@aj-studio this is so kind, thanks a lot! i'm really moved by everything happening
Great job!
