Your space station and the last survivors of humanity are in danger!

You are the best pilot humanity has to offer and you get into your trusted ship to save everyone. The fuel cells are broken and you must now collect the resources to keep the space station powered until the engineers can find a permanent solution. As you're collecting the resources a huge signal appears on your radar. Can you single handedly take down an enemy mothership? Guess we will see....

Legend:

Gold Orbs: Fuel. Collect these and bring it back within the shield radius of the space station to drop it off.
Blue Orbs: Temporary speed boost!
Red Orbs: Heals you for a small amount.
If you are within the radius of the space station shield, every 10 second you will be healed.

Enemy Ship Types

Pawn: Standard assault craft armed with a simple canon
Rook: Large siege cruiser equipped with a long range cannon and a front facing shield
Knight: Fast medium sized interceptor armed with a double barreled cannon
Bishop: Full support unit that heals nearby allied ships. Equipped with a full bubble shield
Queen: Large capital class ship armed with quad cannons and a massive shield. GOD HELP YOUR SOUL!!!

Controls

Control the ships movement with WASD
Control the direction of the ships main gun with your mouse cursor
Control the flight path of the ship missiles with your mouse cursor
Side shields can be maneuvered to block incoming shots from enemies
Your base will slowly lose energy every second
The space around your base (shown by the malfunctioning shield) will heal the player ship every 10 seconds, but will largely drain the base power supply
Search out energy and return it to your base to avoid a full power down
Survive 5 minutes until the final boss arrives (Good Luck)

Nice game, the controls are pretty responsive and the combat experience is really cool. I didn't get the theme part though.

Great job! Visuals and sound design are on point, and the controls are smooth. Took a while to get a handle on the base energy > powerup game loop though. I wasn't skilled enough to ever get to the boss, but still enjoyed it!

Feels really smooth.
I would've loved a dash mechanic, or if the ship was a little faster.
The overall design feels good and was really fun to play.

@saintchristopher777 thanks for playing! I really struggled with it as well. We'll try to upload a picture of the boss so people can see it.

Haha really solid entry, this has one of my favorite game loops so far, the gameplay is really fun and the voice acting adds to the immersion. I feel like this could be turned into a real game with more mechanics and more polishing overall. really well done!

@0x-void-x0 TYSM! We're really happy with it as well. We're hoping to continue working on it after the jam as well. Thanks for playing!

Good gamefeel

Feedbacks :
- intro is a bit long (for a game jam)
- didn't quite understand what we're suppose to do
- items/ennemis need to use affordance

@lejocarry can you elaborate on the affordance? not sure what you mean by it.

Really cool spaceship simulation game!!! I like the background sound and the environment setting. I really like the fighting! But it seems the number of bullets is limited. So that I feel the best stratgy is to steal the energy and run. It's confused that firing the missile can give you bullets. Also, I like the 10 seconds heal in the base. But it is a little bit boring when you waiting in the base. Could I make bullets or upgrade my weapon when I stay in the base?

The Soundtrack & SFX >>> The 3D aesthetics of the game space are very unique; makes for an exceptional game feel. Would have done with more progression, the gameplay felt classic with a decent twist with resource balancing.

Wow! what a great sounding entry. Music and SFX took this one to the next level for sure. I thought the concept and execution were both pretty good. I really liked the feel of the guns, especially the missiles. There was a little bit of graphical inconsistency in the way the assets came together but, overall, I think the quality was quite high.

I would have loved for an option to trade shields for faster movement temporarily, as I felt like I was mostly being beaten by the clock rather than taking damage.

Great entry, thanks for the game!

Man... when the music drops... I had some chills. What a piece of art! The composer have my complements. The graphics are high quality, the sfx are satisfying (very pleasant when you blow up an enemy ship). I thought you could implemented more mechanics like power ups, but what is already in the game is very solid. Congratulations on your entry :D

Cool game! Really liked the graphics and music, as well as the ability to guide missiles around enemies' shields using the mouse. Was a bit too difficult for me -- between the limited ammo and having to replenish the station's energy so often.

This felt pretty damn polished! I would have liked to see subtitles/text for the intro instructions, voiceover was a little hard to make out. Graphics, sound and SFX are great. I gave it about three or four tries before dying, I was slowly getting the hang of it but this isn't really my type of game. I felt like ammo ran out too quickly, and only once in several attempts did I encounter the health restore orb. I feel to be more forgiving to casual players, the upgrade types should be distributed a bit more densely. Also, it would be good if there was an arrow at the edge of the screen pointing back to the space station. Still, very impressive!

Nice and polished game, with pretty tight controls and satisfying combat! I definitely couldn't last more than 3 minutes, but I kept going back to do it! Nice job!

I should admit that creating 3D space game even with all the shortcuts is quite a hard task to complete due to time constraint (I know about it from practice now ), tho you made it, hooray 🎉

A few pieces of feedback from me - it might be slightly less chaotic I would say. Plus it was quite hard task to find on the screen pieces to collect - they are merging with background. But anyway I had quite a fun time playing into it, good job guys!

This is really impressive for the time limit! Game was brutal but in a good way :D I like the loop of pushing to see how far out you can get before returning to base, sfx and vfx were good and had good game feel! The idea was actually quite similar to our game! Nice to see how you excecuted certain things differently I'll be making notes ;)!

Impressive and quite well polished! Graphics and mood are great and the control is smooth.

One point: My bullets quickly ran out and the missiles were terrible(they could not hit enemies just on my face!). Then I killed some enemies and got some ammo, but no visual effects remind me I can shoot with gun now. This made the game harder XD

Great music! I liked blocking shots with the shields, but the ammo mechanics felt a bit unintuitive -- it wasn't clear to me why I was getting ammo back or of what types. I really enjoyed the omnicalculator.com death facts.

Wow, that was awesome.
Music is solid and dynamic as it should be for such types of games. Ship shooting and VFXes are gorgeous.

I really like the shield mechanics, makes you think in more dimensions.
Also, was surprised when one of my shields got broken in the middle of the fight, great attention to detail.

Fun game, quite difficult. I had a much better time once I read the comment about how the ammo system works. I still haven't managed to get to the boss after a couple runs, I usually lose about 4-5 minutes in. (Once I lost literally like 2 seconds before the boss spawned in). I die often to knights and to running out of power.

I think one tweak that could make the game easier to get into would be to change the collected-energy display to overlay on top of the energy bar. That way, it would be a lot easier to understand the relationship between how many orbs to collect and how full the energy bar will be.

I think the shield mechanics combined with the rocket projectiles are quite fun. It is very satisfying to slam rockets in to the side of the rooks. I do find it difficult to use the regular bullets effectively, as most of the enemies are difficult to kill with normal bullets without taking damage. The knights are definitely the most dangerous of the regular enemies.

Silly note: the mothership approaching sound effects continue to play on the game over menu, and I can actually see the mothership spawn in at some point.

The music for this game is quite fun. I especially like how it seems to get more intense a couple minutes in to the game, and that building intensity definitely follows the difficulty of the game. Either way, the music really raises the energy level.
