I love the clean polished look you went for! One area of improvement could be to make the movement a bit more snappy, but I had a lot of fun clearing levels anyway, and the music is nice too!

I kinda agree with @coke BUT that said, I think it can be fixed. The main problem is the movement: it feels waaaay to slow and clunky. After some work on that it can be a really fun game: idea is good, graphic design is great, movement just need to be fixed and the game will be fine.

The music and graphics make for a good mood for this game. I had fun with it for a while but started wondering when I was gonna win, maybe it goes on indefinitely? I don't agree with the game not being fun. Great job on this!

The game engine is really nice! Did you build it all at once on this jam? Anyway game "touch" is fine and my lack of mouse right now was the only drawback on experiencing the game ^^

Quite nice, the enemies could have been a bigger threat, but the game feels good and plays well. Good job!

Top notch presentation and concept.

A suggestion for the controls. Instead of strictly only allowing jumps when the player is in contact with the ground, allow for jumps for a brief period after not being on ground. Something like 200-300ms. Would make jumping easier when trying to move off a platform and jump at the same time.

I would also forego any acceleration on player movements, just change the speed instantaneously on player input. Would make the game feel much more responsive.

Just some thoughts to improve an already great entry

game looks and sounds really nice, the controls could feel a little off at times but held up ok. would have been noce if the enemies shot at you instead of in 4 set directions, there wasnt much of a reason to shoot other than if you couldnt simply go around them. very nice submission overall, well done!

@cameron-borthwick, the enemies actually shoot at you as well when you are close to them and in their LoS. I agree that they don't to that nearly enough. Sadly, I spent a lot of time working on a flying enemy, but I could not get it to collide correctly with the game world. Thus, I had to scrap the idea, leading to a much easier game.
