Synopsis

We are an explorer. We enter a ruin that has never been explored before. As soon as we enter, the door locks behind us and the ruin wakes up. Obviously it's not a deactivated ruin. After 10s, we undergo the first effect of the ruin: the gravity changes and we find ourselves on the ceiling. To get out and understand what's going on, you'll have to explore the place and move forward in the ruins to find an exit and deactivate the ruin. However, every 10 seconds the gravity changes and as we advance we encounter new obstacles and new elements.

Notes

It was our first JAM with Godot Engine (and it was pretty good/cool). We didn't have time to finish everything (some issues with the player's gameplay/sprite in particular). Some levels are more experimental than others haha

Liked the style and the mechanics seem super cool but I can't get past the very first segment lol :) Tried a few methods but probably missing something! :)

Nice game. I made it to third level but then I needed to do some chores and stop playing. I felt like there should have been more checkpoints, because the levels were impossible to complete on first try. You just needed to know what lays before you to have any chance of getting past the level. Audio was excellent and graphics great. And the player movement was really solid. For some reason WASD was not working, I had to use arrow keys. The theme was included in the game, but I felt that the basic concept was not very innovative. Platformer games are maybe the most common type of game and inverted gravity has been there many times. But the implementation was neat and polished, which is of course one of the most important things.

This is a fun game to play! Some feedback I have:

- there could have been some more sound effects, like the plaforms crumbling for instance
- it was impossible to know what was above, so the player cannot make decsisions about where to stand when the timer flips. The player has to do some trial&error to figure that out. Was that the intention?
- the graphics and atmosphere is very well done

Edit: the skip level feature I read afterwards is a very good idea in a gamejam game. I'll make sure to program that in my following entries also!

Really funny game with great graphics. My WASD keys seemed to map to some other keyboard combination, but playing with gamepad worked fine. The character is kinda slippery, maybe add a bit of friction to the floor. I liked that the character was able to jump multiple times in a row, just spamming jump got me out of some dangerous spots.

Note: having a controller plugged in caused some movement issues for me. Unplugging fixed it.
The idea is pretty nice, didn't see any other gravity inverting mechanic this LD yet. Especially in Level 3 though, I died a few times not knowing why. Still, you did quite a good job on the graphics and level design!

Great game !! really good concept. Got stuck in middle for a while but figured out the way later. Awesome work for a limited time jam. You shoud go with this concept further. Please do check out my submission as well.

I liked this quite a bit, but I've never been good at or a fan of games where you had to die a bunch to figure out what to do... With that said, I honestly think that a few tutorial levels or something (I never quite figured out what to do with the crates) would make this something really awesome. I totally get why there aren't any, this is LD and it's amazing enough to get a game done at all (trial and error is the tutorial lol). I guess I'm just trying to say that I'd love to see this continue to be worked on

Also, I managed to beat the first level using just wall jumping and jumping through the crumbling ledges and it felt kinda epic tbh lol

Edit: while I get that it would go against the theme, some kind of button to skip to the next gravity shift would be nice

Like the art style! I ended up skipping through levels because it got very difficult. The collider did feel a bit too big and I would often slide into spikes by accident. I would've liked some visual frames for the dash. It was interesting to see what kind of shortcuts I could potentially get with the gravity switching though this got harder to do later on. Overall nice entry!

Awesome, great idea, very challenging and well designed levels, with beautiful pixel arts and tileset too! I think there is some slippery in the character movement, and maybe it will be easier if there are some checkpoints in the level. Keep up the great work!

Great platformer! The art style and music are awesome, the controls are a bit finicky, but not too bad, plus gema mechanics are interesting. Great job with the game!
