House of Kipo by Klumaster
A spooky adventure game made by three housemates and three guests. we had a whale of a time, made a big mess in the house and ate a lot of pizza. Roll on Ludum 52!
Pitoca the photographer is exploring a dark spooky house. There's ghosts of all kinds there, but luckily she has a magic camera which can trap them. The lightning flashes every 10 seconds, helping her to navigate by briefly illuminating her surroundings.
To win you need to photograph the four special ghosts. there's also many minor ghosts around the place to increase your score.
All art, music, animation, and sound were made from scratch over the weekend (except for fonts) Coded in unreal engine using Paper2D.

Seriously though this was an impressive game. I have no idea how you made that much quality art in just 72 hours. The 2.5D style with the bookcases leaning back was also fantastic. The animations were also great and made everything feel more alive. The sound design was also fantastic and really helped set the mood. I do have a few pieces of critique but honestly most of them just come down to it being a game jam and you don't have time for everything. The first is that the game felt too easy. Ghosts were very easy to avoid and I never really needed to worry about the courage meter. Second is that the level design didn't seem too well thought out. It's serviceable but I would have liked to see more tight spaces or more areas where the ghosts could come at me in diffrent directions at once. Overall though I'm still amazed at how much you guys were able to do in just 72 hours so congratulations on making a great game!!!

Edit: apologies for the poor framerate in the video. I played the game at 60FPS, don't worry!
Neet concept, Unreal is a little fastidious for 2D I sympathize haha
Roll on LD52 !
Nice entry, quite short but great mood and art 👍
