UAO?P

An absurd management game about segways, the apocalypse and a weird cult. Based on quick and unusual decisions.

Nothing more... Nothing less!

DISCLAIMER: IT'S WEIRD

This game is weird. It's intentionnaly weird. Like... We made it weird ON PURPOSE. Why? ...Why not! It's a game made for the Ludum Dare 51. No justification needed.

EPIC MANAGEMENT

You are managing a segway racing competition (yeah yeah we know, once again a game about segways). However, every 10 seconds something really bad (well it's subjective) happens. It ranges from boredom to any kind of simplified apocalypse. And you have to take decisions before it happens to survive. Of course, these decisions are often absurd and weird. Good luck.

How does it work? You have 5 gauges : Unfairness, Audience, Obedience, ???, Profit. If any gauge is empty right after a cataclysm... It's a gameover. That's it.

QUICK DECISION MAKING

Okay so basically this is a game about making quick decisions and living with the consequences. Oh the game won't always tell you the consequences. At least... not explicitely. Be fast, be lucky, and everything should be alright. Or take your time. It may be the key to surviving. Who knows?

CONTROLS: CLICK

Click on things to do things. That's it.

beautiful game! so nice and soft to play! check out my ludum game!
pro: everything looks beautiful
cons: when I get an empty bar I didn't lose, don't know why

@motti You lose when having an empty bar **after** an event occurs. So, if the 10 seconds timer isn't over and you have an empty bar, you can still save your game if you're quick enough! And some events can even save you if it's one that fills a little the bar you had emptied.

well.. that was.. weird lol. tho it felt good rushing through the options as fast as I could, it's a shame you don't get enough time to read everything because I'm a sucker for reading stuff lol especially the "Useless text" text. I think my favorite thing about this entry is the visuals, how the menu looks really polished, the bloom effect and how everything is so animated.. must've taken quite a while polishing things.

really well done!

Thanks for playing @0x-void-x0 ! Glad you liked it! Oh you can survive without rushing, it might even be a great strategy ;)
Yeah useless text was quite a running gag during the weekend, we absolutely had to put it everywhere, even on our itch page and the ludum dare page.

Impressive visual style.
I like the humour in this game but the nature of the 10 seconds makes it difficult to appreciate.

It took me a couple of tries to know how the game worked but then I got into the loop and could last a long time playing. Loved the humour, menues visuals & UX. It's a shame everything goes so fast because I wanted to read all texts but what mattered were the colours really. Nice entry!

Damn I am definitely impressed by those visuals! I really love the way the weirdness, the humor and the spacey visuals play together. I think having to balance five metrics from the beginning is a little overwhelming, maybe you could bring them in one after the other.

Also a little on the text heavy side, the 10s timeframe makes it hard to read everything, although it's so good that I would like to read it :D

Great game, I think I'll go play a couple more rounds now!

Oh man, I feel like you've got the setup for something real cool here. The art, animations, menus, effects, humour and polish are all really good, it just needs more game. Honestly really good creation for 72 hours you've done really well.

Definitely appreciate how clear and clean the visuals are in the context of having to (sometimes) make a lot of decisions quickly.

The visuals are great, and the game is hilariously weird.
As others have said, it's a bit hard to appreciate all the flavour text in the 10 second windows, but otherwise this was a lot of fun! Really polished experience. Nice job guys.

Everything is very professionally made!
I love how abstract and weird the main concept is, it makes the game really unique.

Really interesting but the best part are the visuals, audio and overall presentation. What a treat.

Weird but hypnotizing game. Music and colorful visuals take me to the flow, but my eyes wont be able to read the choices I make and I'm making them by color at the end. Humor goes wasted at that point.

Anyways, this was a polished clever manager game. Well done even if it didn't get me to play more than couple of times... oh, and I loved the idea of community statistics! Brings feeling of interactivity and community to the game.

Super polished! Fantastic feedback and great, fitting music. It just feels *good* to play, and it starts in the menu itself, with options and juice 💪

I suppose the only thing I don't quite get is, well, the gameplay itself 😅 I understood the mechanics but there seemed to be a disconnect from the visuals (nothing seemed to change on the racetrack based on what I picked). I didn't feel like I had time to read most of the time or watch the track anyway. Regardless, it played well, balancing the bars and staying afloat, and the wonderfully vibrant graphics and great soundtrack really contributed to that. A job well done!

Bonjour la France ! Ca fait plaisir de voir d'autres français ici  (Je continue le commentaire en anglais pour le reste du monde)

Very intersting game ! Very well polished, graphics, sounds, musics, even the menu is cool ! Quite impressed by this entry so far.

My max score was about 35000 points and I guess it's a lot ? The first time I played I had no idea what was happening until I realised there was some arrows pointing out that a gauge was depleting or increasing lol.

My only wish is that whenever I click on a button, the track would react to it.

Keep up the good work !
