Duo Dungeon by DavidBradbury
Update - I've added the HTML version! I've noticed that there can sometimes be slight lag in the input in the browser when testing on the LD site, but it goes away quickly. The desktop version doesn't seem to have the issue, so try that if you're getting too much lag!
I crossed the finish line! If I have time this evening and the coming days, I'll see if I can get an online version going.
This was a big learning experience - First time making a game in Godot beyond following some one-off tutorials.
Cut out a lot of planned items, but that's okay! Only a few small puzzles - But I think I will making something of it as there is a lot to explore here.
About the Game:
You're a pair of adventurers setting off to explore an abandoned dungeon, only for some reason, as you get closer, you start to freeze up!
You regain control of each character every 10 seconds with a 5 second offset/freeze period. In the very short "faux-op" adventure, you try to reach the end using the power of teamwork!
(Note: The game is incredibly short - I'd would have loved to have more time to get more in, but I'll take it as a learning experience.)

If anything, I wish there was more content--I can see you sacrificed some of the time you used to make artwork assets which I'm super grateful for--but since this IS a game jam, I wish I could've seen more of the gameplay itself. It's honestly a fine balance, but nonetheless you did a good job for your first time using Godot!
Good work!
I liked how the music + visual transition between the characters lined up.
The split screen effect is what really sells it tho, I think having each character on their own screen makes this feel way more polished.
The art is solid but the 10 seconds were not an obstacle for me.
Good job !
I like the split screen aspect. One suggestion is I'd have some sort of indicator that the character's about to change, like a screen shake or something. Overall though, very cool game.

in the web version, will try the desktop later on
The gameplay is good overall maybe with a few mechanics to jazz it up it could really turn into something!
Nice job finishing and releasing your first project btw :) I have a hard time finishing projects too, but actually also finished my first game this jam too, so yay to us hehe :)
Had the game music playing in the background while writing this, and it's lovely!
It reminds me of the "fireboy and watergirl" flash game.
I feel that the timing of the level very good, if you do well you don't have to wait for cycles and can smoothly run through the level.
Unfortunatly this is wait too short to really enjoy it, but we could see that you spend a lot of (good) energy in it, very good job !
This is a great start to a game. Everything feels smooth and polished, music is good, fun little puzzles, just need more content =). Nice job completing what's there in the jam, though, I quite enjoyed it!
The music being in sync with the 10-seconds timer was absolutely gucci, this definitely tops graphics audio and mood for these two points alone! Oh and bonus points for being in godot :smirk:
Going polish first was a good methodology for such a concept. That it lacks content is really unfortunate, but you have something really cool going on! While it is incomplete, you can definitely be proud of this submission, congrats!
