RED RINK by Simon Rahnasto
The air smells of spray paint and your skates are sharp, welcome to...

Red Rink is a live hockey brawler where you play a team of the finest demons, wolves, and uh, ducks etc. Instead of regular hockey sticks, you have weapons that let you spill your opponents guts.
The volatile puck-wizard explodes every 10 seconds taking out everything in its blast radius. Consider passing the puck to your opponents when the timer turns red to create some explosive plays.

Very stylish game, audio commentator and overall audio is excellent. Even though I'm not very good at bat hockey, I enjoyed a lot. One of the most polished games I've seen for jam. Great job!
But it was really well put together; an audiovisual treat! A lot of complexity too, which must have taken a long time to plan, execute and balance.
Though I am terrible at sports games, the difficulty seems well tuned, as well. Go Pumpkings!
And I haven't even started on the voice acting. Marvelous!
I recorded myself playing the game for even more feedback:

Graphics, gameplay, soundtrack and commentaries, everything about this game is just so good!
I already can see the success of this game if you continue developing it. And, i think I'm not the only one who thinks about this, but if you add a Multiplayer i can see spending a lot of time with my friends in it.
Congratulations, this is really nice work.
I can't imagine what would it be like if there were versus mode :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
What can I say? The game is fun, entertaining, looks and sounds awesome. Veni, vidi, vici, had funici
My respect for coding the AI for the enemy team. I couldn't imagine where I'd start, and this is actually done and works
The game play itself was really run and chaotic. Visually the sprite work done is impressive as well as the animations done with them.
The difficulty was a bit easy through the game, I won every match at first try. Only on final match we had sudden death before I scored. I couldn't find any other grievances and no bugs whatsoever.
What best though is that this game's got character and attitude! :sunglasses: That's what makes it memorable.
Gameplay was lots of fun, so I would like a more challenging version of this to play through a few more times ;)
Ya made something really amazing, great work!

I did find it somewhat difficult to control whenever all of my players were off camera. For example, it would be difficult to tell whether they were all knocked out, or when I should be swinging my weapon, as I couldn't see the enemy players that were nearby either.
Also, I think that the bomb timer could perhaps be tweaked--I often would be confused exactly how much time was remaining, as the very top of the bomb timer is harder to see than the rest of it. Once I really started paying attention that the timer was the whole outline around the sprite, it was easier to keep track of, but I do think it could still be easier to see.
But overall this was a fun game with incredible art, music, and polish. Great job!
