Sheepdog Dino by logiclogue

[raw]
made by logiclogue for LD33 (JAM)
Game made with JavaScript and my own game engine that uses the HTML5 canvas.

You are the monster, a dinosaur! Humans are frightened of you, use this to your advantage to save them! Humans will run away from you, guide them to safety and progress through the levels. Watch out for ghosts, humans are also scared of them.

I am aware humans can get stuck in the corner, use R to restart the level.

-- Updates since deadline --
** Fixed vertical line with purple tiles to the left! This bug made a lot of people unable to play.
* Fixed collision bug.
* Fixed random game over screen appearing when starting a new level.

3rd level doesn't seem to work as intended. The sprites are nice however.

That's a very nice game ! You have several levels, the concept is simple but efficient, and your curve of difficulty is near perfection. Well done !

When I saw level 15, I knew that the real monster here is you.
(I beat it thought :D)

Nice game! Especially liked the dinosaur sprite. Was a little bit annoying sometimes when they got stuck close to a wall. Nice that you managed to create so much content in so short time :)

Cool idea !
I like the concept.
Lakes some sound though, could add a lot to the game feel!
I got a human stuck in a corner.

Like the concept / idea of the game. Some levels felt a bit misplaced (e.g. the labyrinth) but overall a nice game. Got to level 8 or so.

The performance wasn't great but since that is the second game in a row I have this problem with, I may should check my pc now. ;)

Liked it a lot! Cool concept! It was great to have several levels to play.
Graphics were simple but functional, very retro style.
With audio it would have been great!

Really interesting take on the theme! I liked it. I included it in part 31 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/rsAmrwtnu-0

Really simple yet fun.

The ghosts are a nice addition to the game, but other than that the "formula" didn't change at all during the whole game, which made it a tad repetitive.

A boost/dash action could also be a good addition to the game. It would help with large/complex stages like the mazes, and could also make a difference in the way you scare your victims.

It's quite a solid entry overall, though. Had enough content and challenge to keep me entertained for a while, and a simple enough mechanic to be easy to grasp and play.
Good job!
