How to play

Welcome to Låndskein. Here the forces of Nåture 🌳 will try to fend off Indûstry 🏭 in a battle that will end when the field is full.
Take turns against your AI opponent as you drag and drop tiles from your hand to the field.
The winner is the player with the most influenced tiles at the end.
Tiles are placed as neutral, but every 10 seconds influence spreads from trees (nature) and Factories (industry) to connected tiles.
Tiles can only be put on the field connecting to other tiles. Remember to rotate your tiles to have a better chance of connecting the tiles. It will take 10 seconds to grow influence for both sides and you will receive a new tile in your hand.
Influence will grow to adjacent tiles if the way is not blocked.
Nature (🟩) influence can be blocked by roads and walls.
Industry (◻️) influence can be blocked by rivers and forests.
Neutral (🟫) tiles can only be influenced once and either will turn into nature or industry!
This will only work if you correctly block them: just placing them all vulnerable will not protect your influence!
If your hand is full (max 8 tiles) your opponent will place a Toxic oil tile (⬛️) every 10 seconds. Hurry and put a tile from your hand on the Toxic tile to sacrifice both tiles. Toxic will grow every 10 seconds and will consume every nature tile adjacent if not properly blocked or sacrificed before the timer is done. Toxic will count as Industry so make sure you either block or sacrifice swiftly!
Hint: Play your full hand on the field to get 4 new tiles immediately!
When the field is full, counting of total influence will commence and the game will be over.

For the sake of Låndskein, do not let industry win!
Good luck and thank you for playing!

@katboo are you on Mac? please try playing the embeded version on top of this page with Firefox. Sorry about that: it seems to be a current limit of a 3D Godot game web export and Mac.

Nice entry!
I did it! I admit I didn't full understand how some pieces connected at times, and my controls occasionally got messed up (dragging the camera instead of dragging a tile), but I still had a fun time. Nice job!
Loved the counting feature at the end of the game but didn't really understand on what grounds me or the opponent won. Maybe something like showing the points/standing for every highlighted green/red tile.
It would have been nice to try a click-to-select then click-to-place approach. For me, the drag-dropping didn't work perfectly, sometimes misplacing tiles.
Great job overall!
Enjoyable and relaxing title, clean artstyle and felt quite polished for a jam game. Great job!
Some thoughts:
- It will be great to allow you to spin the tiles with the mouse wheel or right click
- I had some issues understanding how the influence of each team works.
It was a bit confusing in the first round as I didn't really understand how to play. I almost won on my second try, but unfortunately the game crashed. I wish I could tell you why, but maybe it's just the newly embedded system.
Keep it up :)
