Great level design as well, keep it up !
Anyway wp, it must be one of the best game I played for now (is that obvious that i like great graphisms?)
I liked the simplicity of it.
Awesome job on the world, I really like the way it feels coherent yet diverse. The behavior of the lights feels nice. You get the feeling of getting lost in an eerie place while never actually getting lost.
Thanks for the game and great job!
Maybe you forgot the camera control on right stick with controller.
Can you archive it in .zip as well for those, who do not have winrar installed anymore?)
Thanks. Alredy fixed it =)
The plot is based on **Slavic mythology**. In it, **fireflies** lead to something bad. At the end of the game, we find the house of a **Witch** who lured us to her with **fireflies**.
5/5 on Mood for sure. The Audio was also fantastic.
The Theme feels a little bit just slapped on top and dying due to not finding a firefly quickly enough felt a bit annoying.
But those are minor negative points for an overall awesome game!
Nitpicking time! The timing to get to the fireflies felt pretty tight during the swamp section, especially when you don't know where you're going have to wait on the trail to appear. I would've maybe upped the number of fireflies along the path a little bit to give the player some more wiggle room. I would also consider making the fireflies get sucked INTO the player, rather than away from them when they get close. It's a real bummer when you're near death and get close to a firefly, only for it to flitter away at the last second for a game over, haha. The checkpoints definitely helped it to not be too frustrating though, good on you for getting that in.
That's about it for criticism! One of the most memorable jam games I've played so far, great work!
Hey. Thanks for the detailed feedback.
We want to create moments, where you will be near death and a little strained, but when you catch firefly in last moment - you relax. So that was the idea.
We are planning to create easy enemies and more interesting mechanic of catching fireflies, but decide to spend more time on the mood (vfx, sfx, mechanics feedback). Therefore, in some places the gameplay may seem boring. That why we cut one location.
