Genre:

Top-Down survival Horror.

Description:

...and that I woke up and found myself in a very weird place, some sort of a house, or a barn maybe. I panicked... Started to search my pockets as fast as possible for a phone or something to contact someone who can help me. But they were empty... The only thing I found was a strange note, that said:

Have you ever found yourself in a weird nightmare, where nothing you say makes sense? Well this is nothing like it... 5 objects will determine if you survive this one... Find them. Collect them. Bring them. And remember, it only takes 10 seconds for them to know where you are, and after that... it moves...

P.S.: f**k unreal engine if you are making a top-down 2D game (in all other cases - works fine )

Really cool idea. It's rather hard to see tho. I know that is the point but I kept having the feeling the flashlight is obstructed even in the corner of the room. Otherwise it's a pretty good execution!

Very creepy and fun to play. the sound effects, lighting, and art gave a real sense of tension.
Managed to win after 7 attempts or so. Great job!

Scared the Christ out of me this one did! Very well thought out and the atmosphere is great! I must be better at games than @mistagiggles 'cause I did it on my first try 😂

@genericparadox Yeah you right it a bit too dark, it is our first jam using Unreal Engine and tools for 2D are a bit lackluster to say the least. So we had 3D objects as walls to achieve top down 2d game with shadows. That unfortunately makes it sometimes confusing.

its got a good concept and I like the sound design, its just a tad too dark but outside of that good job

Ahaha  , a separate like for the top down in unreal engine! Generally, this game is awesome. There is nice combination of theme and gameplay. Wish you success!

the monster sound is SO GROSS but I really enjoyed this quick little game! I especially enjoyed retrieving the objects that required a little more of a leap of faith. getting a grip on the timing wasn't too hard and I think this game could stand to be more difficult (safe areas further apart, less forgiving with the number of bullets, that kind of thing) to keep the tension higher. great game!

It's a neat horror game. The gameplay is simple, similar to something like slenderman. There are issues, though. Enemies can just jump at you from nowhere and you can do nothing. The darkness is very excessive and hard to see, although it is a horror game. The 10 second connection is also very loose. Other than that, cool game.

I have one issue: The monsters chase you for a very brief time, and their hitboxes are very forgiving. I found that due to the difference in speed between me and the monsters, I was able to kind of just run them in circles for a bit. Maybe this was intended, or maybe I got lucky, but once I discovered that, I found there was far less tension.

However, before I found that exploit, there was a moment of utter panic every time the monsters spawned. Blew 8 rounds out of the gun first spawn wave... I think that's the mark of a good horror game. XD Good job!

You did a great job with the atmosphere -- it definitely creeped me out. I think that's in no small part due to the environmental and atmospheric sounds. The lighting and art also do their job very well.

There were moments when I was anxiously waving my flashlight back and forth, trying to figure out where the monsters were coming from. I really enjoyed that. The sounds that they make are delightfully disgusting :)

The monsters are just difficult enough to avoid, so you can outmaneuver them if you're quick enough. The environment is built in a way that allows this, with lots of loops, which is great.

I enjoyed the exploration aspect as well, although I had some difficulties figuring out where to go after collecting all the items. I figured that there must be an exit in the dead end by the pit, but I was wrong (as you might guess). I just wandered around after that until I found it. It also took me a little while until I realized that you could walk on the bed to pick up the doll.

Some more feedback for the player would be good, I think. I didn't realize that the monsters damaged me in the moment, only after glancing in the top left corner. And some items I just picked up accidentally without even realizing it.

I tried a few no-shotgun runs. They were way more intense than my previous attempts but doable. The safe zones didn't always work for me, but sprinting between the ones that did made the intervals without monsters much tenser.

Nice horror! I got shotgun from the beginnig and wasn't scared by monster (though it looks creepy) but then ammo quickly run out and it took me off-guard. Ticking timer increases tension too.

Interesting idea for a game. I did find it a tad too dark, and I don't really like that there is a gun (I think it would have been creepier without a way to fight back), but other than that the visuals are great, the sound design is appropriately gross and disturbing, and it's a decent albeit short horror experience.
