READ THE DESCRIPTION. I wrote it because people can have questions or be confused. If you don't want to get confused, read this!

Make sure you have the following fonts installed or it won't display text correctly:
Tandelle
Comic Sans MS
Tahoma
Teen
Tekton Pro
Times New Roman

You run a blog in the mid 1990's and need to be as successful as possible!
If you can't tell, I modeled most of the game off of Window's 95 :3

NOTE: If you have a 16:9 monitor, I'd suggest running this in Fullscreen for the best effect.

Answers to some questions/comments:
"I had a difficult time really zeroing in on what the post makeup was actually doing to my reader base. Specifically, it didn't seem like anything I put together for the post actually had a specific effect other than that people liked length more than anything, and if I made any of the three too small, it would negatively affect me." I noticed this and kept it this way to mirror how fans in real life feel about content creators. Content creators can never really know what'll benefit them and most fans will only like content with 100% of their favorite thing and act like any variation is horrible.

"I think that a good addition would be to have comments from the user to give you hints why they did or didn't like the post." I thought about that, but A) It'd take a ton of time to write out a bunch of comments that would show up; B) I had already run out of a ton of space in the window; and C) The Webmaster already tells you what each attribute does in the game.

"Comic Sans and Win95 was a nice touch" Little known fact: The font changes as you get a higher posting ability.

"I couldn't see how this blog made me amonster" Honestly, I didn't think anyone wouldn't understand it (That's why I did this instead of a stock market sim). It's aimed to be less of "anyone running a blog" and more of people who are trying to make money off of posting about things people really shouldn't care about and just using exciting terminology to get attention. For more information, see: BuzzFeed.

Most of the mechanics are listed in-game as you play, but I'll leave a list of what everything does here:

If you're not wanting to have any of the mechanics spoiled, don't read this!

~~<[Blog Creation]>~~
Money: Used to pay bills.
Time Speed: Time in the game matters. Every 24 hours you lose money and the time in-between posts influences how many views you'll get.
Blog Name: Doesn't matter what this is, just make it whatever you like (It'll change the fake URLs in the game).

~~<[Characters]>~~
Webmaster: He owns the server your blog runs on. You pay him money and he helps you with your website.
Hackers: They'll try to hack your website to steal your Fans, Subscribers, and Money! The more Fans you have, the more likely you are to be threatened.
Fans: Fans have a 60% chance to view your posts.
Subscribers: Subscribers have a 90% chance to view your posts. They also pay you every time you post!

~~<[Posting]>~~
Buzzwords: Attract new users to your blog. Fans won't like a ton of Buzzwords, though.
Length: The longer the post, the more likely Fans will want to stay Fans. Short posts will make Fans leave.
Quality: High Quality posts will make random visitors more likely to become Fans and Fans more likely to become Subscribers.
Time: If you don't wait and just constantly make new posts, they won't get many views and will most likely scare away Fans and Subscribers! The least amount of time you can wait for the maximum output is 2 in-game hours.
Views: You get money for every View. You can see a graph on the top right of the past 20 posts and how their view count compare to each other
Posts: You can go back and read through all of your posts whenever you like.

~~<[Skills]>~~
Level/XP: You gain XP for every post you make. If you Level up, you gain a Skill Point.
Skill Points: It costs the current Level of any Skill in Skill Points
Advertising: You earn money off of advertising on your blog. The higher this is, the more money you make per View.
Posting Ability: This augments your Views as well as the chance you will gain more Fans and Subscribers. It also has a nice aesthetic affect that changes the font of new posts as well as allows pictures to appear for posts.
Bandwidth: This limits the number of views you can get per post. By raising this, you'll raise the number of possible views you can get for every post.
Security: Lowers the chance of being threatened by Hackers as well as lowering the chance that Hackers will be successful.

Nice, seemed a bit random as to how good each post is and also some the the text is overlapping. But I liked the use of popup windows - the error message got me the first time as well(I think its meant to be there)

The post names were great. I didn't feel any sense of accomplishment from getting more viewers. I really like the style

Haha loved the interpretation of the theme! And I loved how you used the game mechanics themselves to make a commentary on online journalism techniques. You had look and feel down. My nostalgia centers activated playing on those outdated browsers. Great job!

The error message is an "unknown software exception" and has happened every time I've played the game. Doesn't seem to cause the game to break so I'm calling it a feature :)

Really good concept, and a lot of humor. I had a difficult time really zeroing in on what the post makeup was actually doing to my reader base. Specifically, it didn't seem like anything I put together for the post actually had a specific effect other than that people liked length more than anything, and if I made any of the three too small, it would negatively affect me. I think that a good addition would be to have comments from the user to give you hints why they did or didn't like the post.

It was a pretty fun game, but there was no real strategy to getting more subscribers. Comic Sans and Win95 was a nice touch :P

Though I can see where it was going, I couldn't see how this blog made me amonster, unless I just didn't become evil enough. :P The gameplay is interesting, and the graphics looking like they are is pretty cool. Overall, a nice entry.

A great concept! Makes me really miss Windows 95!! A much better nostalgia trip than all of these ski free clones ;)

Game basically froze after I pressed "New Post" one too many times. Oops. I really like what you were trying to do, god knows I hate BuzzFeed and its ilk as much as the next person, but the game's glacial pace really turned me off it I'm afraid.

While the game is absolutely spot-on in being mundane, it's also too good at it. I had a hard time seeing the point of making posts at regular intervals. Perhaps this game works with more patience, but I personally have enough to continue for long.

My last comment wasn't as constructive as I'd like, so hopefully this one provides more details.

I felt that the resources devoted to length and quality were ineffective, making the differences hard to tell. As such, it was difficult to tell if I was making any progress, because I would remain within the same view count for a long stretch of time, until randomly I get a huge jump. Again, I do see this as an accurate depiction of posting to a blog, but at the same time, have very little patience to continue. Perhaps I'm not built for this kind of job :P.
