Overall I really like the whole concept, its a lot of fun to circle around backing, well clicking to the beat. I think with a greater scope this could make a really addictive game.
Difficultly curve is a bit too steep after it becomes a bullet hell but I suppose that is what the upgrades are for on the main menu.
Only problem is that I feel like the enemies bullets are a bit hard to see against the similar background colour which made me lose life very quickly once those enemies were introduced
There were so many good things about this. The gameplay was really smooth, the visuals (even though simple) worked pretty well to convey the point of the gameplay, and the audio was pretty decent. There are a few minor gripes that I'll talk about, but don't take this too harshly because the game was super fun to play in general.
I would have liked to see the theme being incorporated more. Every 10 seconds enemies spawned, which I didn't think was very creative.
The only time I ever messed up on the timing of the shooting was after the upgrades menu disappeared. This was a little bit annoying, because even though you gave a timer, it still felt unfair when I would lose my combo.
I would have liked to hear some other sound effects, such as damage or something similar. It was really hard to tell when I was taking damage. Last thing, but I would have rather had less upgrades that felt more impactful. It was very easy to get to the next upgrade which I felt hindered the flow of gameplay. If you made the upgrades more powerful, but less of them I think this would not have been an issue.
Overall wonderful game. It was super fun to play and I really enjoyed my time with it!

The core mechanic was fun, and all the little details you've added (the background, small audio ear candy) really come together to make this solid. The upgrade mechanics help to give it some long-term strategy too.
I found that once I got mobbed I died pretty much instantly, and sometimes I got hit when I wasn't expecting it -- I think the difficulty curve is maybe a little steep w.r.t the power ups (which don't seem to help that much after a while), but all in all this was great fun to play!
I admit that constantly clicking on the beat would probably get tiresome after a while -- I'd be interested to play a version that varied up the rhythm a bit :)
Great job!
I can't believe you made an entire upgrade tree in the time allotted! Really cool!
I loved how the 3rd enemy spawner would make just 1 enemy in a really annoying place forcing you to move in unique patterns. Great entry!
What I liked:
- The music and sound design !
- All the glow effect.
- the gameplay and the powerups, each one is unique and super fun.
- The fact that you can use your score to buy upgrades.
Improvements:
- Maybe you can make the player a little bit faster, and to balance that you can add some new ennemies !
- Adding different music could also be really cool. It could be nice to be able to choose more difficult beat but with higher shooting rate for instance !
I really enjoyed playing :)
I'm new to these survivor games, but I'm quite used to rhythm games :)
So, maybe this is a new genre for me :D
The only things I think could be improved are what other people have mentioned (enemy bullets too hard to see, lack of variation in the rythm) and maybe the penalty for combo breaks. If you break combo late in the game there is almost no chance to recover. Maybe upgrades should also provide smaller benefits when not in a combo? But those are very minor issues, the game is very good. Congratulations!
It's cool to have a choice between weak boons with near-100% uptime and stronger boons requiring a higher combo. I believe upgrades are capped at "incredible" which might be too easy to recover. Another commenter said that losing combo almost certainly means death, but that's really not the case. Right now it's somewhat comparable to a full obsidian set in Necrodancer. More non-combo based (and not permanent) upgrades could be welcome though
A common mistake of "rogue-""lite""" games is balancing their stuff around permanent unlocks. Permanent unlocks are welcome as a gateway for less hardcore players, but the game should be beatable on a fresh save without a hitch, and it is. I think you nailed it!
And of course, audiovisuals are insanely well-made
I think the premise of "Vampire Survivors + Rhythm" is excellent, really curious about how that premise would look with a couple of different designs! There's a lot of different directions you could go with just that tagline!
I had some good flow moments, but after each upgrad I had a hard time getting back the rythm
Great potential here
GG !
It's very polished as well :)
