Groovy Gremlinz by XOREAXEAX
This is a music game so turn on your sound :)
The Game

Everything was silent in Gremlintown. Until one day, a Gremlin found a magical Item in the ground – and then came the sound! Join eight brave Gremlins on their quest to find the ultimate groove! Can you dig it?
How to play
- Turn on your sound

- Use the (up/down) arrow keys to navigate and collect items. Use the mouse to drag and drop items you have collected. You can scroll in and out for a better view. Equip your gremlins and create your own groove. Walk through portals to travel to new funky dimensions!
Share your creations!
You can generate a code from your gremlin group and share it with others! Warning: When importing a code all current equipped items will be deleted
Technical
A ThinkTank Solutions Production. (a collective of which only one has a ludum dare account)
The concept for this game started a few weeks before Ludum Dare. We didn’t start working on the game itself before the topic was announced. “Every 10 Seconds” defines the BPM of the gremlins. Ideally, the number of gremlins would be 32, but seemed a bit too much for us for the first pitch. Maybe sometime in the future. The game combines Mining RPG aspects with the mechanics of a step sequencer. We hope that it could be a tool to inspire those who enjoy gaming to create music.
Tools
- Unity
- Ableton Live
- Gimp, Krita
- Pen and Paper
- Brains (trial version)

Maybe need a start screen and anymore to do in the game loop but obviously it's ok in a Game Jam period of development.
Well done!
But i like this idea and the way it was executed!
Theoretically you should be able to control the characters by the up and down arrow keys.
We had the problem that the game did not load on an older version of firefox (maybe because of the webgl version) but that might be a different problem..
- Text on-screen would help tutorialize the process,
- Needs more Gremlinz,
- Different levels would be cool.
Overall, seems like a cool, really unique idea that needs a bit more fleshing out! Like some destination they are going to... an intergalactic stage perhaps! Good work!
