Burn Notice

In Burn Notice a massive fireball goes off every 10 seconds. In the mean time, you in your little truck must push a crate to the delivery spot in the middle of the map, but only after running down the locks.

When the fireball goes off you must hide in the shadow of a set of pillars around the small world. If you fail to shelter in the shadow in time, too bad, you're incinerated. During the cycles the pillars may juggle around, leaving you with less places to shelter.

And for each level there are more locks, less pillars, and a more powerful push-back.

Can be played by keyboard or joystick.

OMG! I am so bad at not panicking. Lovely game, very tense and stressful (as is your style I find)

Great job!

As with all the best games, once you have strategized, you feel like you're in control. Until you aren't. Addictive!

Great entry. Annoying though when the package is against the wall.

@paroxysmal Yes, it is very annoying when it gets a bit stuck. I was leaning towards making it so it would be pulled instead, but other issues prevented me from getting that far :(

Nice entry! The audio, the ambiance and the mechanics kept me interested. It's right on theme too.

The first time around I got the package stuck in the corner, then I became a part of the puzzle to keep it away from the edges. I would like the package to be untouched by the force if it is in a shadow as well so that you can "hide" it.
Overall, great game.
Thanks for making it.

Great submission

I like the explosive going off and being protected by the pillars.

I struggled a bit with manipulating the box for delivery, but cool game

Nice job!

@henrik-ganard I never even thought about having the box shaded as well! That would have been really cool!

@haydads Yes, I don't like the manipulation of the box either, I want to make it a dragging operation instead of a push, but ended up having UI issues when pushing to WebGL so I had to skip that unfortunately.

A great entry, but be careful it can be a time sink as you just want to beat the score one more time!

Very good game!! It has been difficult for me to handle the box as they say but otherwise it is so funny. I'm glad you used LMMS, it's not easy to find people like us who use it. Great game!

@milq LMMS was great! Really fun program. Took me maybe an hour to make the loop, and I'm completely musically illiterate. I think this will be my goto program for this use.

Pretty neat concept! The audio really adds to the suspenseful feeling. Personally wasn't a huge fan of how the delivery truck handled and manipulating the box was fairly difficult but overall still had a fun time.

Very cool idea for this jam. The visual feedback for where the safe zone is during a fireball was really well done and intuitive. I think the controls need a little iteration, but congrats on a really strong entry otherwise!

Nice game, and interesting combination of mechanics. Once you got the gist of it it was fun! I only found it a bit challenging, I found particularly hard to detach the box from the wall, but with practice it got easier.

The timing between placing the fireball and the explosion is perfect. Any longer and it'd be much easier, any shorter and it'd be impossible. That said it felt I should have been safe a lot more than I was. Great job overall.

Really love the consept of this game! the shadow mechanic is a creative idea and the gameplay is chaotic but fun! I like the added locks to deal with as it adds a sense of objective while you wait for the delivery, I've noticed many games that involve time don't do this and instead make you wait for the timer doing nothing, this game nails that issue which is great! nice work

Good game, difficult but challenging. I like the visuals and the gameplay is good but addictive, as I always want to beat my past score.

Good idea ! love the way you have to hide behind walls.
However, I do not know if I missed something but my crate keep getting stuck in the corners. I think it will be better to drag the box instead of pushing it.

However you made a cool game good job !

slightly confusing at first (but fun to figure it out), and then frustratingly (but in a fun way!) "simple, but not easy." Once you've gotten through a few levels, you know what you want to do, and you can see what went wrong every time you fail (and kick yourself for it), and you KNOW you can do better next time (until you mess up again). Very solid "one more try" game play, that keeps me picking the controller back up.

Great game!
Very hard for me. I was barely able to complete the first delivery after to many attempts
