Bots, Bots, Bots by Link270

Create cute robots and use them as resources to make buildings that give you bonuses. Use those bonuses to make even more robots. But be careful, if you create too many robots, you may not be able to keep up on their maintenance and they may rust and eventually break down.

I feel like it was intentional, the int overflow after the ultimate robot. Was very satisfying to see my resources go negative XD
My only issue was that the crates with new bots falling often got in the way of manually derusting my bots... then again, if there are so many bots that the crates are getting in the way, it's not that big of a deal, is it?
I love a good snowball effect building game like this, and the art is absolutely gorgeous. Kudos!
I didn't like how crates would get stuck on top of existing robots... but that serves me right for using an autoclicker :P

The ultimate robot put me very much in debt (overflowed all the numbers haha)
I wish once you selected a building you could place multiple of that building without having to select it again.
Really nice entry, played it to the end and enjoyed my time!
Constructive criticism: Sometimes I could not tell the robots apart, because their only difference was eye color (I think), so different models for different robots would have been really cool!
Otherwise, love it.
I am honestly surprised we did as many sound effects as we did haha I hurriedly grabbed my phone and ran to my garage to record a bunch of random sounds when I took a break. I’ll have to do some more at some point for sure! Good feedback, thanks!

Research tree is simple, but good making. If i create game with tree like this, i'll use classic HUD window. But you open my eyes on this, thx)
Good entry overall :D

It's a real shame as the game looks really great the the concept is really nice too!
I'm playing the Mac version on an M1 MBP in case that makes a difference, but UI elements keep not working properly and there was lots of lag at times.
@pete-thorne Robots make you silicon, if you build a repair center that consumes all of your silicon and robots, you'll be locked out and unable to make any more silicon. So you kind of have to make sure you make enough money that you're able to replenish your robot supply before you go all-in on buildings. But if for some reason the Mac build wasn't generating currencies correctly, that's also something we'd have to look into further... we'll also see if we can check into the UI elements being all funky, and the lag. Just have to find someone we know with a Mac at this point haha.

I had all of the buildings placed
@kaech oh that is weird. It seems to just be outing random things in the requirements. It requires 180,000 silicon and the other numbers are for gold and diamond, but I’m sorry it was being so strange for you.I hope you enjoyed what you were able to play! I’ll have to look into that big some more as I haven’t seen it happen to anyone else yet. Thanks for letting us know!
Graphics and music are great, but the game is overly complicated for a jam. Jammers typically spend a couple minutes on each game so that they can play and rate as many as possible. The best jam games are ones that require little to no tutorial.
My personal mindset is to develop it like an old coin-op arcade game: super-easy to learn, super-quick to the action.
really cool Game!
I got the final robot and it did not take long for my resources to overflow.
The only slight negative I have, is that the clicking got annoying at some point, a click hold and brush would have felt nicer I think.
There is not enough contrast between buildable and non-buildable icons making it easy to miss I could build something.
The final robot is fun. I love that feeling of invalidating everything else. Although it doesn't actually work because you overflow the resources very quickly, meaning you can't build anything anymore.
I liked how there were different effects from the buildings, it avoids just making numbers go up, but it still wasn't enough to feel like I was making strategic decisions {especially once I had a fair amount of resources/infrastructure}
Graphics were very nice. Shoutout to the highly readable rust effects.

The graphics was amazing, gameplay was great, and the sound/music was on point. All around awesome game :D
Here's some things I think could be improved if you guys planned on working on this more:
-Sometimes bots goes behind UI and hard to see/click
-Last upgrade was showing the wrong requirements
-Color coding resource icons could make top right panel and upgrade requirements quicker to parse
-Esc to resume from pause menu
-highlight the build area or show a red ghost preview of the building on tiles you can't build on (the first time I tried building something, I kept clicking the button because it seemed like it wasn't doing anything)
-Background was a little too bright I think but maybe that's just my tired 4 AM eyes talking
-It was hard to tell which robo the rust particles were coming from when there when they were near each other. Maybe an additional highlighting effect could single them out more
-I didn't even notice this one until I looked at my screenshot at the end, but the tech bar isn't centered for ultrawide monitor (21:9)
-Probs same issue, but the tutorial images were stretched for me too
-I read the tutorial but none of it stuck with me. Having it show tutorial as you play I think would be better, but it's great that you got a tutorial in there for jam!
Sorry I wasn't able to make it in time to rate, I had a lot of fun playing this!

Thanks so much for the feedback! Some of the bugs we’ve seen and need to fix for sure. Adding color coding is something @tanner-shelton is really wanting to add for a next version along with more detail and colors to buildings. I can’t believe I didn’t add an escape to leave the pause menu… I explicitly remember thinking ti do that during development haha I can’t remember if the ui not being centered was intentional, or if it was just something we weren’t able to get fixed in time. @tanner-shelton ? (None of us have ultrawides though, so it may just be an issue there, thanks for bringing it up!) the tutorial we totally agree needs some extra work. It was literally tacked on so quickly at the end we didn’t even get to think about it, so it needs a bit of a rework.
I’m glad you liked it! We had a blast making it and I am super proud of it! Thanks for the feedback, it helps a ton! Can’t wait to see you in future Jams haha good luck with results!
