Stalwart Planet Guard by rjmarzec
The legends say that every 10 seconds, a new planet is born...
... at least, so long as Starworth the Stalwart Planet Guard is around to make sure nobody interrupts.
Hop around the solar system while keeping those pesky UFO cats at bay! Every 10 seconds another planet spawns for you to hop around between, but so does another wave of cats.
Pick your upgrades wisely, and you might just be able to build out the largest solar system in the galaxy!
Beware: 1 bump from anything cat-related is all they need to take you down. How many planets can you make before you get bested?
- CONTROLS -
Left click: fire a star
Right click: jump to a different planet

The gameplay with the planets is really engaging, although I feel a bit cramped using it with the low resolution. (By the way, the resolution is cropped on the LD embed and hides a lot of the UI)
And it's a shame too, because I really wanted to continue playing. I love the idea. The level up screen (which I only ever saw a single time) looked really nice! I chose a damage upgrade, since I desperately needed it, but then before the second level up, I got sniped from an off screen enemy as I jumped between planets. consider giving the player 3 hits, which restore to full health when leveling up. It's way less punishing and it lets the player have the opportunity to explore the full potential of the game you have created. Giving the player more leniency and making the game easier should never be considered as a downgrade for your game. The easier it is, the more fun players will have. If you really want it to be difficult, add a secondary (and optional) "hard mode".
The music picking up after the level up was a really cool surprise! Again, the soundtrack is great, but I didn't get to hear nearly enough of it. Ahh, and the graphics! *Stellar* work. The planets look great, and the main character is fantastic (I love the mustache). Seriously, great work on the graphics and audio.
Anyway, yeah, that's about it. The difficulty is a bit much, but I like the game. Nice work.
I had some bugs with the planet creation mechanic but nothing bad :)
The game is really fun and really simple to play. I also liked the graphics and the sound design even if it's simple.
Goods job !

Though, the game is pretty fun and you sure may have difficulties with planet, gravity and stuffs. I really like your hand-drawned (Paint.exe?) style. It is really cool to see how far you can go within 48 hours.
I think you can put a sign/feedback to planets you can go. It's a bit hard, when there is no other planets on the screen, to jump to another one. Maybe a little arrow to point the nearest planet? That's my feedback.
I really think (But I can't know all your thoughts behind the game) it would be nice to be able to attack when you're not on a planet. I died too many times for that (Or because I was RUSHED by an ennemy... or because there was no more planet to jump on). A lot of failures with the feeling it was not my fault. Maybe some changes could be welcome.
Good job anyway !
